How can she afford it? Well, she's still got her share of the lottery winnings and she offers this to Carla to buy her way into Underworld.
The preview for next week says this gives Carla food for thought, but it doesn't say she accepts Sally's offer. Do you think she will? Does she have any choice but to accept Sally's money if the factory is to survive? And just how will Sally and Carla get along together in the office?
Sally certainly knows her way around both the sewing machine side of the factory and the office side too, so Carla will appreciate she's got a lot to offer as partner in Underworld. It just might work.

Oh Please no. I cant stand Sally in a position of power. Thinks she is better than everybody else, Carla seems to have forgiven her for everything. The best favour Anne could of done was to smash her head harder lol.
ReplyDeleteOn the contrary, I think Sally could be good as boss of Underworld and there is plenty of ways her character could be taken forward. Just lose Kevin, he is a pointless appendage whose character has now been exhausted. How much was the lottery money anyway, I thought it was only a couple of thousand?

ReplyDeletePoint of order - Anne didn't smash Sally over the head - Sally sustained the injury falling down the stairs. Although how the gash came to be on the back of her head, and well congealed a few seconds later, is anyone's guess!
Sally being the insufferable boss from hell could be a hoot!

Kevin won 200,000 pounds and Sally ended up with half in the end. I'd say she probably has enough to stump up given the price of things in Corrie. But how can Carla accept the offer? She doesn't own the other 40 %, presumably that's Frank's estate if not his mother as next of kin unless there was something in the original contract that gave it back to Carla in the event of Frank's death.
ReplyDelete100,000 can buy a sizeable share of a factory? Seriously?? The entire operation can't be worth much then. You'd think 100,000 would be a drop in the bucket of a corporation and/or business, just taking into account the property value, the value of the machines, the value of the raw stock, goodwill, etc., etc.

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely mind-numbing that Carla would forgive Sally for all that she has done and that line of hers, 'Frank fooled all of us'...oh puleeeze!....and yes how could Sally buy Frank's share of the faktry....it would revert to Anne but then as a convicted felon she may not be able to inherit, but would there be other family members in line for it? I find it hard to believe Sally hasn't spent any of her half of the winnings already.
ReplyDeleteAt last. A storyline with some potential to be interesting. Sally Dynevor is a great actress who does not seem to get the credit she deserves.
ReplyDeleteAs for realism, Sally couldn't be worse than Carla. After all, what businesswoman would sign away her share of a business on the strength of a verbal "promise" of an order from someone she barely knows and not even attempt to negociate a better price.
Oh please no power goes to Sally's head and she thinks she is better than everyone..ps where has baby Jack gone??? Last seen about a year ago??
ReplyDeleteI actually like this twist. Sally showed some business savvy and creativity while Frank was there. However, I think it's best not to nickel and dime the actual cost of the place. Humour, fighting, sarcasm, caustic commentary - endless entertainment potential. ;)
