Yay or Nay - will you miss Rosie Webster?

Actress Helen Flanagan has already left Coronation Street and Rosie Webster is far behind her as she settles into her new life in Wales with boyfriend footballer Scott Sinclair.

And tonight Helen's on-screen character Rosie Webster leaves Corrie as she bids farewell to the cobbles to start a new life in that London on a reality TV show.  It's an episode written by the wonderful Jonathan Harvey so we're going to be in for a treat.

So tonight's the night that we wave goodbye to Rosie Webster, but will you miss her? Yay or Nay?

  1. To be honest, not really. When they announced she was leaving, I wasn't devastated. I like the character, but she's no big one. Not like Baldwin, the Duckworths, Blanche and Betty. But she's young, so who knows? Maybe she'll return. :)

  3. No. She's dreadful. Couldn't act her way out of a paper bag. Unfortunately Terry duckworth is coming back, so the number of people who can't act remains the same.

  6. If she was the Goth Rosie who was mildly interesting, perhaps but when she went all tarty, definitely not! Interesting that Helen didn't really like how her character was in recent years.

  7. Nope. An appallingly talentless actor. The show will be the better for it. If only Tracy Barlow would follow suit.

  8. Nay..seemed to be pointless having her on the show the last few months and the re-kidnapping by John Stape was just dumb. If she does come back, I hope she insists the producers do something with her other than make her a clueless self centered moron (just like Sally).
As a young actress though, I think she's making a big mistake to dump her career for her boyfriend. Just my opinion.

  10. I will miss her. She's funny, and has a good heart. I think it's unfair to say that Helen is a bad actress, when we have never seen her portray anyone but Rosie. She's part of one of the core families of the Street, so I would definitely like to see her back one day.

  14. Yay, I'll miss Rosie. She and Sophie were the only close siblings left on the show and they were always good together. Yes, her character became very shallow and bubbly, but I think she carried it off, as opposed, say, to shallow AND lifeless Xin, or shallow AND dreadful Tracy, or shallow AND spiteful Kirsty. I wish Helen F well and hopes she'll come back for a visit.

  15. I'll miss Rosie -a wee bit. She was very good as the vacant lost in space character with a somewhat good heart and fit in well with Jason, Eileen, Sean and Marcus. Think the wrong sister is leaving.....

Come on, Helen Flanaghan had a period of a couple of months of not being in it, and she wasnt missed. She is one of those expendable characters, OK when she is in it, but quickly forgotton when she isnt. For some reason she has been built up as this great character and actress by the powers that be when she quite frankly is not, whats the odds she will be back within a year.

  17. no i won't miss helen. possibly the worst actress ever to appear on tv. they should re-cast rosie immediately so she can't come back.

  18. I'll miss Rosie. As AbbyK says, she and Sophie made a lovely picture of sistership. Rosie was funny and dumb but she wasn't spiteful (Kirsty and Tracy) or hateful in any way. She has way more depth and was a much more watchable character than her contemporaries such as Amber and Eva or Tina. And even at her 'worst' she didn't make you reach for the fast forward button.

I wish Helen Flanagan the best of luck and I hope she comes back soon.

  19. They messed about with Rosie's character and she really had nowhere else to go. If HF had wanted to stay, perhaps they'd have married her off to Jason with the inevitable affairs (yawn). Good luck to Helen Flanagan. I hope she doesn't come back, for her sake. Very few returning characters turn out well.

  20. I rather enjoyed Rosie's character, she had some funny lines. But, there are 2 that have to leave permanently - Tracy (a character with no redeeming features & a less than mediocre actress) & Stella (what is wrong with her voice - just plain annoying). Oh, and take Sophie with you. All the best to Helen in her future.

  21. I liked when Rosie was bright enough to be accepted and attend that school...can't remember the name. When that ended she suddenly became dense and morphed into what the character is now - awful. I would have like to have seen the character move back toward bright Rosie again. I imagine the actress and character will be back, and that will be fine. But I could use a break from the character as she is now.

  23. Good riddance I wish she would take the rest of her family with her. I am so bored of the Websters especially Sophie and Kevin!
