Favourite Corrie characters countdown - sixth poll

Hello all! Now, I hope you've voted in the fourth poll of ten because that is now officially closed. But you have until midnight next Tuesday to vote for two of your favourite characters in the fifth poll.

So, who's in our sixth poll?

Eddie Yeats - The loveable Scouse lodger of the Ogdens. Due to his criminal past, his plots would always involve some dodgy scheme but deep down he had a heart of gold. He later became a binman and married Marion Willis before moving to Bury.

Blanche Hunt - The acid-tongued mother of Deirdre. Although first appearing in 1974, it is the 1999-2009 Blanche we love! Her legendary one-liners and put-downs made us all laugh! Everyone was a victim of her sharp tongue: Ken, Deirdre, Tracy, Gail, Roy, Norris, Liz and even the Royal Mail! She was on top form in the AA meeting in 2009.

Tina McIntyre - The feisty Rovers barmaid. Initially introduced as the new girlfriend of David Platt, over the last four years she has had many conquests - Jason, Nick, Graeme and Matt. She's suffered much heartache - her dad's death hit her hard; she had a secret abortion; Graeme cheated on her with Xin; and currently she's in a feud with Kirsty.

Becky McDonald - The recently departed Becky was a character that has made her mark on the street. Initially quite a shady character, she became a fan favourite through her close friendship with the Croppers and her stint working in the cafe was comedy gold. Her marriage to Steve was seen as a dampner but after their divorce, the old Becky returned somewhat. The 50th Rovers barmaid, she left Weatherfield for Barbados.

Curly Watts- A binman that rose to be a manager at Bettabuys, forming a double act with Reg Holdsworth. Interested in astronomy, Curly's true love was Raquel - he even named a star after her! They did marry but she didn't love him. The marriage ended when she left him for a new job in Kuala Lumpur. He later married Emma and they had a son called Ben. The Watts family left for Newcastle in 2003.

Deirdre Barlow - Famous for her huge glasses, Deirdre's had a busy love life - she's been married four times and has had 11 other men! Mother to toxic Tracy, she's had two memorable storylines: she had an affair with Mike Baldwin in 1982-3 that resulted in a memorable showdown in the Barlows' hallway; and was wrongly imprisoned in 1998 thanks to the evil deeds of boyfriend Jon Lindsay. She was dubbed 'The Weatherfield One'.

Who's your favourites in this batch of six? Well, vote for two of them and we'll see where they'll be in the countdown! I have a feeling it's going to be a strong and healthy competition!

  1. Eddie Yeats - comedy gold with Stan! Often overlooked as a Corrie Classic Character too.

This week's poll is slightly easier as there are a few I really don't want to vote for. Blanche and Eddie get my votes this week.

  5. Where are the results from these poles? Perhaps I've missed the blog posts, but I've not seen any results from any of the favourite Corrie character poles so far. I noticed the pole Flaming Nora posted http://coronationstreetupdates.blogspot.com/2012/02/who-will-kill-frank-foster-vote-here.html, has the option "View Results" and it's also a Polldaddy. Thanks.

  7. These polls are part of a big countdown so the results will be relased in a few weeks. I don't know why there's no 'Vote' button Maggie. It appears on my computer so I can't help you there. :)

  8. Aha! I had the page view zoomed in too much. Zooming out revealed the ever important vote button!
