Corrie Review - Thursday 5th January 2011

It's the morning after Frank tried to kiss her and Sally is full in thought when Sophie comes downstairs with her wedding dress insisting she won;'t be moping around and spending all day in bed crying over Sian and instead she'll get her money back from the wedding dress. Sophie refuses to get her job back at the corner shop and asks Sally to find her a job in the factory but she says that she doesn't want Sophie working in a factory and leaves for work where she bumps into Kevin. Sally tells him that Sophie is still wanting him to stay clear.

Tyrone is full of new year joy and but is rather taken aback at Maria giving him the cold shoulder. Tackling her about it he's surprised to hear that it was how him and Kirsty were around Fiz in the Rovers the other night. Tyrone says it's because Kirsty is a bit shy. Tommy tells him that he has been a bit off with Fiz. Tyrone responds reminding him of the time they did battle with the drug dealer over her but Tommy fires straight back telling him that since she's been out he's hardly taken notice of her.

Peter tells Leanne he has a new therapist called Neil who he has got to help with his alcholism which will be on the NHS and will be for a couple of times a week. Leanne says she'd like to come with him but Peter says what with confidentiality he doubts she'll be able to come.

At the factory, Beth is starting her first day (remember her? Steve's loudy and gobby ex-date.) at Frank's factory and Sally asks Eileen to show her the ropes. Frank arrives and asks to speak to Sally in the office. He apologises for the night before and his attempted kiss and tells Sally that she's been such an ally and a close friend since the rape allegation. Sally says it hasn't affected her opinions on him and that she still believes him over Carla. She then decides to get the contracts back and suggests they start with Laydon with a private meeting that evening. Anne arrives at work full of apologies to Frank for her behaviour, blackmailing Carla and that his Dad is furious with her. Frank tells her that it could lead to him being sent down due to the fact that she bribed a witness. He recommends she takes a couple of weeks off work and that he'd speak to his Dad and tell him that it's not the end of world. The two hug as Sally watches on smiling from outside.

Rosie is shocked to find her picture wearing the cycling gear in the Weatherfield Gazette and she has Leanne and Brian praising her over it. But when she sees herself on the bus stop shelter she reels in pure horror and it's worse than the time she appeared naked covered by the hairy hands. She storms off close to tears shouting she's supposed to be a glamour model.

Eileen is still depressed over her love life and after a drink with Brian, Julie and Marcus she decides to take the plunge. She goes home, lights candles and with some slushy music on she invites Paul over and states she wants to share him with Lesley. Paul is rather shocked and taken aback and quickly leaves, leaving Eileen visibly upset and wondering whether she's lost him for good.

In the evening Frank is entertaining Laydon and trying to persuade him that Carla is lying and not to take his business elsewhere where there's a knock at the door. Frank fears it's Carla come back but is surprised to see Sally dressed smartly and together they manage to persuade Laydon to keep his business. Sally then gives him a full snog at the end of the night saying she knows full well what she's doing before leaving to spend time with Sophie.

Highlights
Rosie: "Mickey Rooney, is that Wayne's Dad?"
Jason: "No."
Rosie: "Who is it then?"
Eileen: "Hollywood legend, married eight times."

Lowlights
Frank, how can he be so convincing that he's innocent? Sign of a really twisted person.

I've just invested in some new equipment to get the reviews online much quicker - a portable HDD which I can record direct from the TV (before I had to wait for episodes to be uploaded to the STV player, found it more reliable than ITV Player) :)
