Coronation Street Chit-Chat - news catch-up

Welcome to another in our occasional series of Coronation Street Chit Chat where we bring you lots of little snippets of Street news all in one place. These are the sort of news snippets that aren't strong or interesting enough to make it into a blog piece of their own.

Current Coronation Street cast members

Corrie trial - interviews with Andrew Lancel (Frank), Chris Gascoyne (Peter), Alison King (Carla) and Jane Danson (Leanne).  Oddly, Andrew Lancel says he's received a CV from someone wanting to be Frank's PA on Corrie. Crikey, even I know it's not real. Story.

Chris Fountain (Tommy Duckworth) says kissing Michelle Keegan (Tina) is 'awkward' Story.

Instead of giving Brooke Vincent another "huge" Corrie contract - how about some diction lessons. They must be mad, she is beyond dreadful.

Surprised there wasnt a blog about Denise Welsch (Nathalie Horrocks) in the BB house being that numerous ones were done for Anthony Cotton when he was in the jungle. I know she isnt in it any longer but it deserved a mention.

  2. IMO Brooke Vincent is a so-so actress. I like her character but I get a feeling she just plays herself. I suppose they want to keep her because she's been there a long time.

  3. Kate Ford's interview; she says "...people don't want the character to change." This Corrie fan wants the character gone!

  4. Agree Frosty - just what are they thinking giving BV bags of money? .......to leave yes but to stay -almost laughable and yes she does need diction lessons ....I never know what she's saying.

  5. Anna,BV said in one interview that up until the lesbian storyline she had just been playing herself. I suppose she felt she'd have to start acting now! The directors have a lot to answer for. Isn't it their job to get actors to do theirs?

  6. I haven't seen the point of the Sophie character for a very long time.
I'm so surprised she hasn't been written out, it would be so easy to.

Glad I'm not the only one who can't understand her lines. It doesn't bother me, because the character bores me.

  7. That's interesting Humpty Dumpty because I always got the sense Brooke Vincent would not be able to play a character who is vastly different from herself. Unlike someone like Ali King who plays Carla. If you watch her on screen out of character, you really get the sense she couldn't be more different from Carla. Didn't get that from watching Brooke Vincent in an interview out of character.

I guess we haven't seen the full extent of what BV can do, only having watched her on Corrie. But I am not sure why they are keeping her on, must be that she's been on it since she was a kid.
