ITV bosses have confirmed that they will air a special tribute show on Becky Grainger/McDonald when she makes her exit from the Street in coming weeks.
The show, entitled Farewell Becky, will be shown on ITV1 on 24th January 2011 at 7.30pm
It will be narrated by former Street star Sally Lindsay and contributions are expected from Simon Gregson, Kate Ford, Paula Lane, David Neilson, Julie Hesmondhalgh and Ryan Thomas.
The documentary will follow the story of Becky, from petty criminal, to beloved barmaid.
I dont like the character Becky so I may be a bit one-sided, but imo having a farewell for one of these characters surely must mean they have been in the show for 10/15 years at least.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same, surely Becky's stay which is only a few years wouldnt warrant a "tribute show". Hope that means that the character wont ever be coming back.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Did characters like Martin Platt or Curly Watts have a Farewell... tribute, and they were in it for 20 years - Becky's only been in it for 6. Only the likes of Ken, Deirdre, Emily, Rita, Betty, Gail, Audrey, Kevin, Sally and Steve atm deserve a farwell programme like Mike, Vera, Jack, Liz and Blanche had.
