I am sorry to say that yesterday's episode with the "wedding" was one of the worst Corrie episodes ever with Sophie screeching in the street in her wedding dress. Absolutely the pits, I had to fast forward most of it to stop Frosty being deafened.
ReplyDeleteFN, I don't dispute your comment that Sophie and Sian are popular because you obviously have evidence to back that up. I wonder, though, how they get that evidence. It's odd when nearly every poster on here says the characters are boring. That's the thing about statistics - very questionable.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the wedding episodes. There is a huge fan base out there for these two actresses and the character of Sian Powers is very popular. I hope one day Sacha Parkinson will be back on the street to continue this relationship, but wish her well for 2012
ReplyDeleteThese were great as a couple to begin with however the wedding storyline was badly written and ruined them.
ReplyDeleteYou can't please all the Corrie fans all the time....;-) We have our favourites, other people have theirs. That's why I'm asking for comments on what people would like to see on the blog and to get more people involved in writing for us so we can give a much broader range of styles and likes on the blog. I'm not keen on certain characters and will never blog about them or the actors (I'll leave you to guess who they are!) but some of the others, indeed, many of the others including Sophie and Sian I will give space to. But please, do get involved with us and join the team here if you'd like to. More opinions are much needed for 2012.

I'd have like to seen the marriage actually go through and THEN Sian finding out about Sophie and Amber. But the actress wanted out and this is what they came up with. Loved the frocks...both were stunning.
ReplyDeleteGood riddance to whinging rubbish.
ReplyDeleteHave to agree the dresses were amazing, and sometimes there were great scenes with Sian and the Webster!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I felt like this couple/storyline had huge potential and seemed to be building to something before fizzling and then gaining a bit more momentum before reaching a plateau very late in the game. The most unfortunate part was their ending with a pop, rather than a bang. Combination of poor writing/acting? What d'ya think?
ReplyDeleteI liked the storyline and i liked the wedding episodes.
ReplyDeleteI liked the storyline, dresses & Rosie's decorating & planning flounces throughout. Sadly, I think the actresses, who are friends in real life, just giggled too much a lot of the time. And garbled their lines a lot. I think they could both grow into better acting.
ReplyDeleteI thought the wedding was squashed into its time frame, and the whole Kevin/Sunita thing was kind of fuzzy around the edges, not giving enough tension to the situation. Shame cause Corrie weddings are usually better done.
As a lot of TV series that go DVD and lasted on 2 seasons then it gets that popular they would make a series 3 for popularity reasons. Corrie should do the same on these fictional characters for a small chapter with a better ending for popularity reasons.
