Video: Catherine Tyldesley on exciting times for Corrie's Eva

Catherine Tydlesley, who plays Eva Price on Coronation Street, was interviewed today on ITV's Lorraine show.

Catherine revealed that she's got a big storyling coming up this Christmas but it sounds like an even bigger storyline for Nicky-boy Tilsley who decides he's going to MOVE OUT of Gail's house.  My word, is he really growing up?

Catherine says that Eva takes this news as a given that he wants to live with her, but he doesn't!  There's a clip from the Boxing Day episode which teases this news too.

She says she was given good direction and a good breakdown about the character when she first joined Corrie, and enjoys Eva being intelligent and feisty. She's really enjoying playing Eva, she gets all her negative energy out during the day as Eva and says that she was auditioned at the same time as Michelle Collins who plays her on-screen mum Stella Price.

It was also revealed that Catherine is a singer as well as an actress but she keeps the singing as a hobby these days. She's sung for Manchester United and at the Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi.  And she talked about losing just under five stone in weight and how she feels better for changing her lifestyle and losing the weight.

And did you know that Catherine was once in Emmerdale too?

  1. Repeat of the Natasha storyline where she goes and gets a flat and Nicky gets scared off. The writers are flat out of ideas and just re-using old ideas with new characters.

  2. Yep, would agree ,been there done that. No doubt the pasty and insipid Stella will ride to her rescue, having bound to have been in a similar situation herself in her long *yawn* career.
