Rumours are rife that there's love in the air for Rita and Dennis.
And Coronation Street producer Phil Collinson says he would love Rita to have a wedding.
But do YOU want Rita, Corrie Queen of the Kabin to marry Dennis, son of Corrie legend Elsie Tanner?

I would love to see a happy ending for once in Weatherfield!
ReplyDeleteFor me - No.
ReplyDeleteI find the idea of them getting hitched somehow, strangely incestuous.
Now Audrey was fine hooking up with the last two suitors she was very keen on - because they weren't old Corrie regulars from back in the day - they were newbies. Same with Jack's last pairing.
Also has there been any evidence of them showing any true desire for each other?
Rita and Dennis are too long in the tooth Corrie characters of old and as such I find they've morphed into 'family', hence the queasy incestuous feeling I have about the pairing. Like I said, strange, but that might be just me.
Now from on high at Mount Olympus and putting on my Zeus-like persona I hereby hand down to them their destiny (soap characters destiny section).
The following to be read in a deep, god-like voice:
To be truly happy, Rita and Dennis must each find someone else to love.
I'd like Rita to get married anyway! But I do feel that Rita Tanner doesn't go due to the TA-TA in the names. It is weird that they haven't mentioned that Rita's late husband Len used to chase after Dennis' mother Elsie! But Rita deserves some love - after all she's carried the surname of a man she was only married for three months for. Sullivan doesn't have the same Northern edge as Fairclough or Tanner for that matter.
ReplyDeleteWhatever would Elsie have thought?
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great idea. Rita deserves to find some happiness again. it could be a lovely quiet affair without the run-offs or punches etc.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I think the Bill and Pam wedding, hopefully in the new year should be a funny affair for a change.

ReplyDeleteSo who's decision would that be other than his, that's one of the stuipidest things he has ever said, and he has said many stupid things about the direction of the programme.
No No No - not Rita - they are more like older sister/younger brother.....oh the thought....ick.
ReplyDeleteIncestuous? Brother and sister?!
ReplyDeleteWhat are you all talking about?!?!
I'd love Rita to become Mrs. Tanner. She deserves a bit of wedded bliss. :)
Rita Tanner. Who would've thunk it?
