Rovers Return gets a new barmaid

According to the Daily Star, by way of Digital Spy as I can't find the original article online, there's going to be a new barmaid in The Rovers Return - Sunita Alahan!

Sunita will be pulling pints after she walks out of her job at the corner shop in a strop with husband Dev. When Rovers landlady Stella finds out Sunita's out of a job, she offers her a barmaid job at the pub. Now this, I like the sound of!

  1. I wonder if she's going to be the Betty/cook replacement?

  2. Why would Stella even give her a job, she doesn't even know her or interact with her. But I guess this is goody Stella, doing such a good deed in giving her a job.

But I guess she needs someone to run the bar while she buggers off to stick her nose in other people's business eh?

  3. I like this total change up for once, instead of beating the same old stories to death. I suspect Sunita and Stella's daughter (the non-Leanne one whose name I can't recall) will end up being the bar maids? Bet's left us and Becky will too, soon enough.

  5. I don't know why you ever watch the show Frosty - you are always moaning about every single thing.

I think Sunita will be a good addition to the Rovers, bring her forefront! She's a good listener! :) And I wonder whether there were people other than white working in a bar before?

  6. I like Sunita but can't stand Dev...he's soooo smarmy. Also Amber can take a powder anytime soon.

  7. If this means more scenes/stories with Dev then its NOT a good thing

  8. "Kelly Crabtree" was behind the bar for a time, as have been many of the female characters at one time or another in their time on the street. No real surprise that Sunita too will give it a go.
