I don't know about you but I'm counting down the days and will get the bunting out when the dreadful Cheryl and Chris leave Coronation Street.
Chris came into the soap as a wife-beating bully and she took refuge with the wonderful Lloyd, who has been dragged down by this tripe of a story. Now Chris has got a brain tumour and although he's going to recover he's lying to Cheryl to try to get back from Lloyd. I just hope Lloyd punches his bleedin' lights out when he finds out what he's been doing behind his back and in his own home.
Cheryl and Chris are dull, dull, dull and I lose the will to be a Corrie fan every time they come on screen. I hope this hasn't left anyone in two minds as to whether I like Cheryl and Chris or not. I don't and I never have.
But never mind me, what do you think, Corrie fans?
I have never liked Cheryl, Chris and their son from the moment they all first came into the show! At the moment I am not paying attention at all to any of their scenes and can't wait for them to leave. It does amuse me when producers promise 'exciting' and 'poweful' exit storylines characters that the audience couldn't care less about. The only way you can tell if somoene made an impact is at the actual end of their Street stay when people think they'll be sorely missed. Somehow though I don't think they will-and neither will this awful storyline!
ReplyDeleteCome on you really need to ask this question? Everybody Hates Chris. The story is dull as ditchwater with characters nobody could care a jot about. The message that is being put across that a lying thief scumbag wife beater gets the girl back in the end is irresponsible as well in Frosty's opinion.
ReplyDeleteTotal miss, always fast forward through their scenes, the characters don't engage me at all. For once I am in agreement with Frosty!
ReplyDeleteNever mind an advent calendar, I've got a Cheryl & Chris leaving calendar! It MUST be soon, the storyline's been dragging on for months. Plus I don't think it's a great idea to blame (as the writers have hinted) a brain tumour for Chris's former violence.
ReplyDeleteDull and Dishwater. Don't let the door hit you ... on second thoughts, slam that door on their arses on the way out willya?
ReplyDeleteCheryl has the charisma of a bag of pork scratchings, and suddenly Chris's wife-beating and associated thuggery is forgotten in this completely implausible story. I can't believe TPTB let Kelly Crabtree leave, only to be replaced by the complete void that is Cheryl. Has she ever smiled? I feel sorry for the actress playing her because she is such a mardy mare and can;t be very challenging acting-wise, and I cannot understand why Lloyd (fun, sociable, nice guy)would ever fancy her.
ReplyDeleteI just hope that this story doesn't drag Lloyd down into the Abyss of Complete Dross with it.
So that's a BIG MISS from me then, in case I hadn't made it clear!
Is this a trick question? The whole thing was a colossal waste of time! Perhaps the writers decided that the viewers would take kindly to poor Chris who...
ReplyDeleteTerrorized and beat his wife
Hired someone to break into Janice's flat and tried to pin it on the brain-dead Lloyd...and I'm pretty sure he had a hand in smacking Jim McDonald around...and then ended up with a brain tumor which is now miraculously shrinking away! Last night's performance was just dismal. I guess they have to finish their contracts but Holy Hell..nobody cares about these two.
I agree with all the above comments - can't wait for the three of them to leave.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe there are so many really bad actors on my beloved programme....and I don't blame the scripts, it is definitely the acting skills or lack thereof. The bad actors very nearly outweigh the brilliant actors.
Also, there is something, apart from her bad acting, that I find really aggravating about Cheryl. The sooner they are all gone, the better.
Definite miss from me. Dull and tedious characters
ReplyDeleteIn a year where we've had some bloody drab and unbelievable storylines, this one takes the biscuit. It has been stretched out in a mediaeval torturing machine, and, no coincidence, is torturous to watch.
ReplyDeleteChris is one of the most unlikable characters in the history of the soap - for all the wrong reasons. His machinations and Cheryl's idiocy are not thrilling, they're just tedious and exasperating. Let's hope they're both out the door sooner rather than later. Lloyd is wasted on them both!
its just a shame that it took 6 months for lloyd to re-decorate their new house only for lloyd to go back to being a batchelor. i wonder if steve will move in with him once cheryl & chris leave.
ReplyDeleteWhen do this tribe leave? Surely, like any unsatisfactory employees, they can be paid to the end of their contract and go on 'gardening leave' - with immediate effect.
ReplyDeleteI will gladly organise a Street party in order to celebrate the disappearance of the Grim Grays. I used to have the Claytons as my all-time dull family but the Grays have displayed a boredom in rowdy bloom. Let's not weep for them . . .
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they want to take Tina and her tedious doctor with them?
I felt disappointed when the Consultant told Chris that his outlook was positive. That's a measure of how much I dislike the character. Using cancer to manipulate others is just the latest low in a long line. And the idea that anyone, even someone as vacuous as Cheryl, would prefer wifebeating, deceitful, meathead scumbag Chris to Lloyd is ludicrous.
ReplyDeleteNothing about this story rings true. If someone tried to frame me for burgulary and ruin my life, I wouldn't give them the time of day, let alone a room in my house. Chris, Cheryl and kid should just get in cab and drive off into well deserved obscurity.
Bland, bland, bland. Plus the current storyline of Cheryl risking her stable family set-up with Lloyd for a fling with her ex feels like a re-treat of the Peter-Leanne-Nick triangle of this time last year...but with much less interesting characters. Dull as dishwater, can't wait till it's all over.
ReplyDeleteI think the worst thing is that Chris has no redeeming issues. A former wifebeater, he is faking his illness in order to get back with his wife, who's boyfriend allowed Chris to stay and showed him nothing but support. There is nothing likeable about him and that i think is the key problem.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for them all to be gone.
Need you ask? Big miss, and not as in will miss them.
ReplyDeleteI would far prefer if they put up the test card with some 'supermarket'/vision on type music and a sign saying "more interesting than the Chris and Cheryl story" instead of their scenes. Really Phil Collinson we don't mind if they don't finish their contract, they can leave and don't see the story through, nobody will mind just this once! Honest!
ReplyDeleteBeth
I like them!
ReplyDeleteNah, I'm only joking. Awful! Awful!
This year has had less ups than downs. When Phil Collinson said that after the tram crash things would never be the same again I didn't think he meant Coronation Street would be appalling. That's a change to far. I love this show but I hate the way it's being made.
You know you're in trouble when you see a photo of cast members dressed as elves and it looks like the most believable story line of the year!
I hate that, lying asshole hope lloyd punch his lights out when he finds out, and cheryl, uhh, shes a stupid cow desperate and dumb as if ud choose him over lloyd, way to bring the house down.
ReplyDeleteWhoever named them 'Gray' was about right! Will not miss them at all.
ReplyDeleteThe nice thing about watching on YouTube is the fast forward feature. The very sound of their voices and it's... zip to the next scene. I will raise a toast to better story lines when they are gone.
