New Coronation Street DVD releases

A chance search of ‘Coronation Street’ on amazon.co.uk this morning led to me discovering a new range of DVDs being brought out later this year.

It looks like they’re revamping the 2005 releases of the decade boxsets, and bringing out new releases for the 90’s and the 00’s.

Each boxset contains ten discs, and 80 episodes from the decade. The first four, from the 60’s to the 90’s will be released on September 5th, followed by the 00’s release on October 3rd.

You can find each of the boxsets here: 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's.

I know what’s on my Christmas list this year!

  5. Oh they will come down in price and possibly sooner than later. I'd hold off until closer to Christmas rather than get them early.

  6. I'm really looking forward to these, they've been in my Amazon basket for weeks!

However... pretty much all of Network DVDs' entire stock was destroyed in the fire at the Sony warehouse in Enfield during the riots (see website for details) so it would be worth checking if these box-sets will still be released on time before pre-ordering.

  7. Network had the 60s, 70s and 80s sets all at £20.00 each on their website before the fire. They say they will be up and running in a few days, so might be worth checking out their website to see in the coming couple of weeks.

  8. Oh dear, that's not good re the fire. IT's going to cost them a lot to reproduce their stuff. We might not see reductions after all of the new stuff. Yes there could be delays too in the release.

  9. I don't know why people are forced to pay high prices for DVD's as I have checked up with companies that produce DVD's (that is copying them in thousands), and they can cost around 40p per disk to around £1 complete with shrink wrap ready for retail. Next, we find these are in the shops for £15 or so, and I even noticed a single DVD for £40 sometime ago...scandalous!

  10. I can't complain at £40 for a ten-disc box-set (with eight episodes on each), to be honest.

If they were available separately, at £4 per disc, I doubt anyone would bat an eyelid.

  11. The cheapest place I have found these at is from DVD Source (http://www.dvdsource.co.uk/dvd_13617475) at £39.99 plus free delivery. Next is Amazon at £43.47 and the dearest believe it or not, is adsa at £47.93 (and I thought they were suppose to be cheap)! This just pays you to shop around. Oh, and in Poundland before they run out, and you'll have to be quick er... they are selling these for only a ... no no no , of course i'm not on about this Corrie box set silly woman, I'm on about sandwiches for a quid ha ha and you all thought well I know what you all thought... you thought I was going to say these box sets were only a well I'm not going to say how much so there ha ha!
