There's a lovely interview with Jennie McAlpine in the Mirror today. She talks about her sensible attitude to health and diet, in the sense that she just uses common sense with what she eats. Walking is the only exercise she gets and she doesn't really pay much attention to her body weight.
She recalls her audition for the role of foster child Fiz Brown. She was only expected to be in the show for four episodes. She made such a positive impact that they brought her back and we've had our Fiz for 10 years now! Fiz wasn't always liked by fans but she gained a lot of sympathy when we saw what kind of mother she had in Cilla.
Jennie is quite content being on Corrie and hopes to be there for a long time. She's looking forward to Fiz's future storylines, including when the inevitable happens and she finds out about her husband John's involvement in Colin Fishwick and Charlotte Hoyle's deaths.
I have always liked Fiz ... a strong Corrie woman in the making ...
ReplyDeleteStrong corrie woman.........surely you jest!
ReplyDeleteWell, she won't be there very longer..her character has become a whining shrewish fish-wife...constantly crying and wringing her hands. Bring back the old feisty Fiz once and for all!
ReplyDeleteFishwives don't whine - they shriek.
ReplyDeleteStop taking my name in vain.
Nice interview with Jennie, What a sweetie. What she says about viewers at first not liking her gobbyness may explain some of the toning down of the character. Fiz could go in various directions after Stape's crimes are exposed. Either way, it's not going to be a walk in the park.
ReplyDeleteHm not sure about being a sweetie, I have seen quite a lot that she is not a very nice person in real life.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what she's like in real life, but I'm not really a fan of Fiz.
