What do you make of 'Norris's News'?

Last night we got our first look at Norris's News, first thought? "Shouldn't that be Norris' News?" Second thought? "Poor Rita" though you can't blame Norris for wanting to put his own stamp on the place. He wouldn't have thought Rita would have minded, but she did, Mary on the other hand wouldn't have cared either way.

Anyway, I'm glad they dropped the whole Post Office brand from the place anyway, since the post office counter was never really used. The inside looks a lot tidier and modern, in fact it reminded me of Emmerdale's cafe/post office set a little, I hope Norris decides to change it back to 'The Kabin', it feels wrong without it there.

  1. I think Rita is getting more self-righteous with every episode. She'll end up turning into Emily, who is now beyond parody.

  2. I think Mary was a bitch - for the sign and the way she spoke to and of Rita. And Norris was an ass; although no surprise there!

I think it's great - Norris is my hero, and his Commonwealth Games voluntary work just shows how London 2012 show be.

  4. I'm sure Norris will change it back to the Kabin. and it doesn't seem like as many people mind that odd ended apostrophe anymore. I think it's acceptable these days to be Norris' or Norris's

  6. I think that Rita should have shown that she didn't mind to be moving on and not made a fuss after all Norris has owned the place a long time now. Norris be all excited by Mary's surprise, let Rita's feelings dawn on him in a short while and it would have been a nice touch by the writers that Norris would have changed it back to The Kabin himself in a few days/ week and make one of his funny little excuses. But Rita, Emily and us viewers know that he's got a good heart reallyand it was due to the way Rita felt! Instead they made Rita throw a tantrum and Emily very sanctimonious.
    Shame!
Ahhh the writers should have come to me - lol :)

What gives Rita the right to shriek that she was not consulted over the sign? Have I missed something here or did she sell her share of the Kabin to Norris so she could go off on a cruise. She just hangs around incessantly belittling Norris and making her smart alec comments. Talk about being up yourself. Newsflash love: its none of your business any longer. I like Norris's News, the Kabin was yesterday, lets have a change for goodness sake.

  9. I'm glad that norris's news has come down and it's called The Kabin again. Norris only owns the business but not the shop because that's Rita with her flat upstairs so she could kick mary and norris out of the shop. I'm glad that The Kabin has been reopened but i don't like the paint colour. It should have been rebuilt as it was before the Tram Crash with the Post Office sign it looks a lot brighter. I can see Rita and Mary ar going to have a fight but we know who would win by a mile and that's Rita Sullivan. It was upsetting though for Rita as they renamed the shop because as she nearly got left in the rubble of the destroyed Kabin. I wonder if Rita will buy The Kabin back off Norris because really i think she misses working behind that counter.
We're right behind you Rita sort Mary out once and for all.
