Believe it or not, I am enjoying Rosie Webster a lot lately. That's something I never thought I'd say out loud. I'm not sure if it's the writing that's better or Helen Flanagan's deliver that's spot on or a combination of both but Rosie is turning into a cracking character these days. Still vain and shallow, of course, but a lot less annoying.
Read more about it over on t'other blog here.
She's become one of my faves too (weird as I used to hate her character)
ReplyDeleteRosie speaking!
Jason holding...
:D
Brilliant piece Tvor! Enjoying Rosie at the mo too, she's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you, Tvor and Chewy! I think part of it is that Helen Flanagan has matured a lot and can now 'see' Rosie for what she is. I always felt she was a bit out of her depth a few years ago when Rosie was changing from Goth to Trollop, especially in the Stape kidnap stories (and I think the directors didn't help there). But now she is such a wonderful fluffy airhead and has some great comedy moments, yet is really lovely with Sophie and a proper Big Sis. Well done Helen!
ReplyDeleteI really like Rosie too, she's great.
ReplyDeleteI agree as well. She's one of the only characters making me laugh these days!
ReplyDeleteI thought the point of her character was that she was quite intelligent but she's been swayed by the idea of the model\WAG lifestyle, so she acts more stupidly than she actually is.
ReplyDeleteJust laughed my head off at Rosie taking Jack to the "mother and baby" photoshoot audition but bringing back a baby girl by accident! LOL! Love Rosie, really do.
ReplyDeleteRosie's hilarious, she's really grown on me recently. Helen Flanagan isn't the best actress in the world, but she plays Rosie perfectly. I love Rosie's relationship with Jason too, they have a fun chemistry.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree! we've got to see a caring side to rosie where sophie is concerned but shes still the old dozy rosie!
ReplyDeleteRosie has been great lately, although I wish they had given the screw one or two more turns tonight with the baby mix up; it could have been a real Lucy & Ethel moment. Instead, we got whining on mommy's shoulder and stealing attention from Sophie, again; total mood killer.
ReplyDeleteSally gets line of the week, maybe year, with that bit about knocking her dysfunctional family off the front page.
She is so slappable but she is represents most of the girls of her age these days - totally selfish, vain and self obsessed.
ReplyDeleteI also agree, an episode a couple of weeks ago, when sally and kevin were arguing and the estate agent was there... she goes "do i know you, do you have a brother" Classic line.
