Poor Ashley, he's gone to the great pie-maker in the sky after he was crushed under the weight of The Joinery tonight in Coronation Street.
The official Corrie website at itv.com are doing a wonderful job, more than ever this week, and they've got a great interview with Steven Arnold, who
plays played Ashley Sibelius Peacock on Coronation Street for 16 years.
Watch Steven's emotional farewell to Corrie right here.
Even though it was pretty clear he was going to "get it" it was still very shocking. As I've said, I hated the idea of carnage, but in the event, if he HAD to go, I think it was a really good exit for Ashley, bravely sacrificing himself *dabs eyes*.
ReplyDeleteI think Ashley knew he had internal injuries when he began to cough up blood, that's why he kept the viaduct standing whilst Nick got Peter out
ReplyDeleteYes, I think he knew the time was up when he started to cough up blood. Poor Ash, brave hero.
ReplyDeleteIs that REALLY a picture of Ashley? Very young!
Will really miss Ashley. Just a really nice character, can't believe he has been axed after 15 years. All the best to Steven.
ReplyDeleteSniff, snuffle. It was hard enough seeing him die the hero on Corrie, but that interview has done me in. I think it was even sadder for Steven to do! I loved what he said about Julia Haworth. Hugs and best of luck Steven & don't stay away from our screens too long!
