Video: Sue Cleaver on ITV's This Morning

The wonderful Sue Cleaver, who plays Coronation Street's Eileen Grimshaw, was interviewed on ITV's This Morning today.

She talks about her current storyline which will see Eileen lose her new fella Owen to lusty Liz. "Eileen's rubbish with men," says Sue, and we can only agree. She lost Dennis Stringer to Janice Battersby - and then he died. There was Ed who murdered Ernest Bishop, Pat the Irishman (that's a bloke not a game), Jerry Morton, Jessie Chadwick and now Owen Armstrong.  Not a good track record, is it?

Sue promises that we'll see a different side to Eileen when Owen dumps her for Liz. She'll get her revenge and Sue said there'll be big repercussions. She likes the fact that Eileen's an Everywoman, bringing her kids up on her own and that she represents millions of women up and down the country who are doing the same thing.

She reveals that her Corrie heroine is Violet Carson, who played Ena Sharples, and that she would have loved to have been able to record a scene with her.

Talking about Corrie's 50th anniversary, Sue said there's lots of secrets and whispering going on right now and didn't give anything else away as to whether she'll be killed off in the tram crash or not.  This fan certainly hopes it's most definitely not.
