Bill Tarmey's specs appeal

Bill Tarmey, who plays Jack Duckworth on Coronation Street, recently got himself fitted out with two new pairs of specs.

Cheryl Swindells, manager of Optical Express at the Trafford Centre in Manchester where Bill bought his new glasses (with Transitions varifocal lenses, if you're interested), said: 'Getting new, tape-free frames are a great way for him to prepare to embark on his post-Coronation Street life.'

But what about Jack's trademark specs held together with tape... I wonder what'll happen to those when Bill Tarmey's character leaves the Street later this year? And just how will Jack leave - suicide or tram crash?
