The paper says that after giving up his escort work to be with Audrey, Lewis is a bit skint. So he hatches a plot to get his hands on some cash and heads to the bookies to rob it. He slips a fake betting slip into the pile while flirting with Deirdre. Ooh, the cad! And when he asks her to check his bet she’s delighted to tell him he’s made £300 on the horses. Ooh, the blaggard and bounder!
Is Lewis Corrie's first gentleman villain? I can't think of another Raffles-type character from Corrie's past, can anyone else?
Audrey should really have given Lewis more pocket money.
ReplyDeleteHowever,he is hardly likely to trouser any cash in the bookies as punters in there are as common as rocking-horse poo !
Gentleman villian?
ReplyDeleteMaybe he could get nasty, you know.
Like Tony Gordon, I remember reading on Corrieblog the episode review the day Tony Gordon smashed the glass in Carla's sink after she was flirting with Tony and it said:
"I wonder do we have the start of a villian here?"
cause, i remember, he was very charming and sopisticated (like lewis) at the start but I think Lewis blowing up Audrey's or something like that would just be stupid.
I badly wanted Grandad George to do his nefarious Raffles bit, but he went to Berkshire instead.
