Molly heads home

Sorry for getting your hopes up but Molly isn't heading back to her father Diggory with a bun in her oven but back into her marital home. Inside Soap reports that after finding out she is pregnant she confronts Kevin in the hope that her predicament will rekindle their love, even going so far as to show him the scan of her baby, which he promptly sets fire to. At first Kevin won't even speak to her, caring more about his family but pretty soon he's demanding that she either has an abortion or gets out of Weatherfield.

Feeling rejected and vulnerable and with 14 million viewers screaming 'Go, just go!', she packs her bags and is ready to leave. Unfortunately Tyrone, unaware of Molly's pregnancy, steps in and begs her to move home so that he can look after her. After they have a talk about their relationship, she reveals that she is pregnant and Tyrone, the poor sap, is over the moon.

When will this tedious story end?

  1. Just when you think it's been folded away and forgotten, it comes back to haunt you. And a "who's the daddy?" story - HOW ORIGINAL.

  2. I'm tired of this storyline as well, but I'm especially fed up with the Gail-Joe storyline, and can't believe it will last through the 50th Anniversary celebrations! I really don't like the George-trying-to-steal Simon story line, either, so for the first time in years I'm considering turning off my Corrie. The good bits in between aren't enough to keep me.

  3. Rita's back a week on Thursday. But probably she'll be back before then for her comeback!

  4. I'm sick of Molly's ridiculous self.

  5. If gail says, "he was a good man" again about joe I think I'll kick my tv accross the room. Define "good"! The molly storyline is palatable after gail's tedious grieving and tina's constant aggro.

  6. Molly doesn't know who the daddy is? No surprise there. Standard Soap Opera Plot. *sigh*
Joe was a good man? How does "extremely flawed and weak" = good?

  7. Am I the only viewer irritated by Helen Worth's idea of dramatic acting (blinking rapidly and whispering her lines)?

  8. No you're not Naggy Maggy. I like Gail but the whispering gets on my nerves.

  9. How far gone is Molly? She and Kevin split up 3 months ago. Not looking forward to this and I think that Molly should be written out, it doesnt ring true she should hang around the Street now her marraige has broken up, she has no friends around there and I cant stand her!!

I too am getting fed up with "Whispering Gail" this has been dragged out far too long.

  10. More Molvin. Great.

As much as i admire Vicky Binns i just can't help feeling this terrible storyline has destroyed her character.

I would go as far as axing her along with Tyrone, Kirk, Fiz, Chesney and John. Clear them all out.

  11. @ Naggymaggy & Anonymous & Seapenguin - I can't stand Gail's withering anymore either.

@ Peter - I agree, about how this storyline has ruined her character. I used to like Molly, I thought she was just Tyrone needed. She had a bit of "Fiz" in her before, some gumption, now she's a lame puppy-kicking (Tyrone) pussycat doll nobody likes.

I think Fiz leave John since she never should have married him, then fall into Tyrone's arms after Tyrone gives up on Molly when she's preggers with Kevin's baby. Then do away with Molly, Kirk (if he doesn't get interesting soon), Chesney and definitely John!

And, I mean the OLD Fiz, not the new one.

  12. Wait - did this article say that Kevin SETS FIRE to the scan? OUCH!

  13. Don't worry ... Aunty Pam will be by Molly's side and sort this mess out. I bloody hope so - we need some good quality acting again.

What is happening to my beloved street. Storylines for the few ... and not the right ones!

Can't wait for Kate Anthony to get her teeth stuck into this again as she did amazingly before.

Pammy - where are you. We need your input and classic comedy skills before Corrie becomes EastEnders 2!

Please please please writers and producers - see sense and bring back the comedy that sets Corrie above all the other soaps.

Let's have a funny wedding with Bill and Pam and have Molly and Kevin as best man and matron of honour - oh the joy or good old classic comedy and storylines to make us smile once again.

Yoork, I think it was you who started Team Pam on the blogs - let's get this show back on track.
