Another bad boy joins the Corrie cast

Former Vicar of Dibley actor James Fleet is joining Coronation Street as Tony Gordon's new henchman. The official Corrie site reports that James will take on the role of Robbie, Tony's prison cellmate.

Since Tony's incarceration at the end of last year, he has been plotting his prison break and revenge. Realising that he needs help, Tony quickly enlists Robbie and plans to use him as his eyes and ears on the Street.

Fleet is due to begin filming within the next couple of weeks and will make his screen debut at the end of May.

  1. Yet another 'cellmate' coming on to the Cobbles, they ought to sell Ashley's butchers shop which never features in any stories any more and build a prisioners rehabilitation centre.

  2. This guy is a top notch actor, and should bring some real life to the show. Tony was an excellent character, and I am so glad he will still be around for a while. The two of them hold some real potential for some great and thrilling storylines. Well done, Corrie.

  3. Now this is exciting and yet another reason to be on tenter hooks for Tony's return. I think this might just be my Corrie highlight of the year because Gray O'Brien just lights up the screen.
