Coronation Street panto costumes revealed

When the Coronation Street panto takes place in the Rovers Return, Hayley Cropper gets the credit for running up the costumes on a spare machine at Underworld. In reality, a hire shop in Barnoldswick has provided the costumes for the Christmas Eve episode of Corrie.

It says here that Northern Costume Hire was approached by Coronation Street to produce the pantomime costumes, having already been involved with ITV in the past. Owner Margaret Greenwood said: "We were asked to make the costumes for the Christmas Eve episode of the programme, when the pantomime Cinderella will be performed in the Rovers Return." Northern Costume Hire have been busy preparing the costumes for the past few weeks but have had to keep the details of their work secret. "We can't say exactly what the costumes will be like, but it was announced in Monday night's episode the pantomime would be Cinderella so there will be a fairy godmother and the usual characters," said Margaret.

Can't wait to see who the Ugly Sisters will be!

  1. Well judging from that picture, Jesse is one of the ugly stepsisters.

  4. I don't think so... Neither one is dark skinned enough. The shorter one is Jesse, i can see his beard. I think the taller one might be Sean in heels. There aren't too many men that are taller than Steve sho is only average height anyway

  5. I misremembered what John Thomson said on Paul O'Grady about it a while ago. There's a picture on digitalspy from the 'changing rooms' (i.e. the Rovers back parlour) and it looks like it's Sean.

  7. The ugly sisters look like Jessee and Grahame to me. Nice costumes but I am sure the viewers are expected to believe these were "run up" by Haily and Fiz in a couple of lunch hours! Looking forward to it though.
