Rula Lenska joins Coronation Street

There's some fantastic news on the official ITV Corrie site as they reveal that fab actress Rula Lenska is joining the soap.

She's only coming in for one episode, so don't get too excited, and you can read the full story here. She'll play a mate of Audrey Roberts.

Mind you, I reckon Corrie's missed a blinder with this one. Rula's a dead-spit for our Rita and should have been brought in to play a relative of Rita's, don't you think?

  1. How come she's just in one episode? It says in the ITV page that she and Audrey will have some adventures. Does that mean she'll return? And yes, she could be a long lost daughter to Rita, someone she had when she was 16. There's a story for you!

  3. Actually, if Corrie is smart...and they are...they will make it that Rula is the link between Rita and Audrey. It's actually Rita and Audrey that are long lost sisters or cousins or something. Rula would know both, and of course since they're bringing her in to work with Audrey, she probably won't have a scene with Rita, so it leaves it open to happen!

  4. Is Barbara Knox thinking of retirement? Maybe Rula is coming in to fill the Big Red role. Big fan of Rula's, have "Rock Follies" on video.
I am surprised they never made more use of Audrey's background in local body politics. That would have set her up with all sorts of friends and contacts that could provide stories.
