Written by David Lane (7:30) and Julie Jones (8:30), directed by Tim Dowd.
Chesney's got his paper-route back, and is guilty about losing Fiz's ring in Rosie's car and attempts to get it back. He's too late, as Rosie finds the ring and tells her mother it's a gift she bought for her and gives it to her in front of the factory girls. Meanwhile, John Stape has set the date for his and Fiz's wedding, September 28, 2009. Save the date, folks. Fiz realizes that Sally's got her engagement ring, and just how she got it (Chesney stealing Rosie's car). Fiz decides to do the only rational thing: steal it back. Fiz is caught with the ring by Tony and is forced to confess all: that she and John Stape are engaged. Sally and Rosie figure out that Chesney stole Rosie's car and tell Fiz that he must face the consequences for what he's done. Fiz tells them it was her who stole Rosie's car so Chesney isn't punished.
Becky goes shopping with Hayley for her wedding dress and is rudely snubbed by a posh shop's sales associate. Becky leaves with her dignity (and the woman's head) intact, and tells Steve about her ordeal. Well, nobody puts Becky in the corner, and Steve mans-up and gives Becky the Pretty Woman treatment by taking her back to the store and whipping out his plastic to pay for whatever she wants. Much to his later regret I'm sure, since the final bill has him thinking he's seeing double.
Joe is still jonesin' for pills. He attempts to get another prescription from the medical centre, but is turned down and just snaps! Gail witnesses this incident and is concerned for him. David still won't give up the pills until Joe has Tina back in David's arms. Mission Impossible.
Jason went to apply for the mortgage and got it. Now all he and Tina have to worry about is that they can get No. 12 in the auction, then they're good to go. Jason offers Jesse some space in Bill's builder's yard for his work paraphernalia. Pam is dipping her hands in Bill's business practice.
Michelle's back for a few days with the new "girls" and extensions gone. She has a drink in The Rovers with Peter, and turns down his offer for them to continue a relationship. Luke spots her there, and it's clear to Michelle that he's in a relationship with Rosie Webster, thanks to Rosie Webster.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Rita forgiving Chesney and giving him his paper-route back.
- Stape is friends with Gary Windass in the clink. It's a small world after all.
- The factory girl's endless jabs at Rosie Webster.
- Seeing Tony as "big boss" again for Underworld instead of "manny" for Maria.
- Fiz taking the cake for Chesney's mistakes.
- Steve saving his lady's pride.
- Jason, Jesse and Bill playing cowboys in the builder's yard. And their American accents!
LOWLIGHTS:
- Fiz's lies to John, friends, and Chesney.
- Having to watch Joe crumble before my eyes, more so each episode.
- David being a despicable human being, more so each episode.
- Michelle's brief return to the street. Bo-ring and unnecessary. Leave Peter alone!

I would add to the highlights list, Pam's observation about 'cowboys', 'builders' and 'images'.
