Corrie women take to the skies and the road for charity

Remember back in the 90s when Des Barnes jumped out of an airplane for charity? Well, it's happening again, though not on Coronation Street. I spotted this report over on Corrie Canuck and thought our readers here would be interested, too. Tupele Dorgu, who plays Kelly on Corrie, is going to skydive on behalf of ActionAid, a charity that raises money for the poor on Sept. 5. It's the first time she's tried the adventure sport and will be falling from 10,000 feet!

Also under the ActionAid umbrella, Katy Cavanagh who plays Julie Carp is going to run in a 5K women only run/walk in London on Sept. 6 to raise money for AA's women's rights fund, sponsored by Addidas. There's an interview with Katy here starting at 1.04.24 on the timer.
