Is Becky Granger a Coronation Street icon?

The Radio Times this week have a Coronation Street barmaids special with a picture of Becky in a Manet painting on the front cover. The tag line under the picture reads "The making of a Coronation Street icon".

Do you think Becky Granger deserves to be called a Corrie icon? Isn't iconic status deserved only after many years, decades even, or does Becky deserve icon status already?

Never in a million years. She is the worst character in it, for my money, and she's bringing down the legendary Steve McDonald with her, sadly.

  2. I don't think it's right to be calling her an icon yet. She's way off. Although she is a bloody good character and a fabulous actress. Although in recent weeks, she's not been 'doing it' for me for some reason...

  3. I did like Becky but as with Michelle and Sean before her she is way over used and I am getting fed up with her. She has never gelled with Steve in my opinion and I am fed up with them draped over each other all the time.

  5. Becky might not have earned icon status yet, but for my money she's the best thing to hit Corrie in a decade. She's been in the background of late but her story line will obviously arc shortly with her wedding. I, for one, can't wait.

  6. I don't think Becky is an icon. I can't stand her, she is just so irritating in my opinion. And I think that an icon needs to have been around for a long time, and Becky has only been on Corrie for about three years.

  7. I wouldn't say she's an icon as such. That status only goes to a precious few. Don't get me wrong i do like her and the relationship she has with others, especially Roy and Hayley. But i'm not all that keen on the whole wedding extravanganza to be honest, the wedding that actually wasn't was dull in my opinion.

  8. I love Becky's character, always have. I think she's absolutely great, and I think she has POTENTIAL to be an icon. But she's not an icon yet. Only time will tell.
