Corrie moves to Thursdays from July 23

For the first time in its history, Coronation Street will stop being broadcast on a Wednesday night. It's always been shown on a Wednesday night since it launched in 1960, but from Thursday July 23 it'll move from Wednesday to Thursday nights and the time's changing too. It's moving from 7.30pm to 8.30pm so your Corrie weekly schedule will now be as follows:

Monday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm
Thursday at 8.30pm
Friday at 7.30pm and 8.30pm

Does anyone have any strong opinions on this change?

  1. Yeah, I don't like it. Now what am I going to watch on Wednesday? There's too much competition on Thursdays, I hope ITV still gets the same viewership.

  2. I just hope I remember its on on Thursdays. Having it on a Thursday and then again the next day Friday doesnt really make sense.

  3. i'm not impressed. Even watching it on wednesdays, i tend to lose the thread a bit, you know lose momentum or whatever. With a 3 day gap, i just think they'll lose viewers. Boo!

  4. Seems a bit silly to me. ITV have always had the wednesday slot, something they always had over 'that london soap' and they're just leaving an open goal for BBC to put something snatch worthy in Corrie's slot. Plus on a personal note i'll get annoyed having to wait from Monday to Thursday! I hated it enough when they erradicated the sunday ep.
