Corrie wins six gongs at British Soap Awards 2009

Coronation Street scooped a whopping six awards at the British Soap Awards 2009. The ceremony was held in London last night (Saturday 9 May) and will be show on ITV1 on Wednesday 13th May at 8pm.

The six Corrie awards went to the following:

1. Katherine Kelly (Becky Granger) for
Best Actress
2. Gray O'Brien (Tony Gordon) for
Best Villian
3. Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre) for Sexiest Female
4. Rob James-Collier (Liam Connor) for Best Exit
5. Craig Gazey (Graeme Proctor) for
Best Newcomer
6. And the Special Achievement Award went to the fab Corrie writer Peter Whalley.

Corrie lost out on Best Soap to EastEnders. Boo, hiss, etc.

  1. The winners are well deserved. Corrie is much better than EastEnders. And I believe that Barbara Windsor didn't deserve a Lifetime Achievement Award, well not for her soap contribution, she's only been in it for 15 years! Anne Kirkbride or Helen Worth would've deserved it better!

  3. Llifon, totally agree. Enders is dross by anyones standards. Babs Windsor hasn't even clocked up fifteen years, she was absent for a few years before her return.

  4. I'm really ticked off that Ali King didn't win best actress, but nonetheless i am glad Corrie won it by way of Kate Kelly, i do love Becky too.
