Katherine Kelly wins TV Soap Personality of the Year

The Television and Radio Industries Club 2009 Awards ceremony was held last night in London. Katherine Kelly, who plays Coronation Street barmcake Becky Granger, won the TV Soap Personality of the Year. Well done to Katherine, it's great news indeed. Unfortunately, Soap of the Year was won by the other lot from the BBC. Again.

Have you voted for Corrie in the British Soap Awards 2009 yet?

  1. Something seriously, seriously, wrong about the online voting system.

Received the confirmation email - AND EVERY SINGLE CATEGORY had another nomination other than the one of my choice that I had originally clicked and chosen. So just deleted my email to null and void the whole thing.

  2. Do you mean on the British Soap Awards? If so, that's really unfair, you should email itv and tell them.

  3. It really does say a great deal about Human Nature when the dross that is, "EE" keeps winning these awards. The BBC'S inferior soap is not even fit to lick Corrie's backside.

  4. I haven't watched EE for over 20 years so I hate to say it but... could it actually be good? Better than Corrie?

  5. I haven't watched EE for quite some time either, but if I do catch it occasionally, it's just so relentlessly downbeat and depressing. Some of the acting may be cracking, but the overall feel is just too bleak for me. And when there's humour, it's not the sort of Corrie humour that we've become used to. But I can't deny that there are some pretty good actors on EE.

  6. EE was good for awhile. But currently on our CAnadian screens, it's absolutely dire and there aren't even any good actors!

  7. Some of the actors are really excellent though but it's all a bit shouty for my liking.
