Shame on you, Craig Charles

Hmm... now I'm a huge fan of Craig Charles, both for his acting on Coronation Street as cabbie Lloyd Mullaney and for his Radio 6 Funk and Soul Show. So I'm more than a little rattled by his comments to the News of the World that Corrie fans aren't as high-class as fans of his sci-fi series Red Dwarf and he labels Corrie fans unintelligent and "lowest common denominator stuff".

If this story turns out to be true, this blog will go into an official strop and will stop mentioning Craig Charles, giving no more promotion to any of his work.

  1. Obviously he dosen't realize that the fans are what keeps the show on the air. Perhaps the writers will give Lloyd a few less scenes...

  2. Oh no he didn't!!! I used to watch both... well, I'm offended and if those words are true I won't be following him either.

  3. As far as I can see he wasn't slagging off all Corrie fans - just the ones who make inappropriate remarks to him in front of his kids. And who can blame him? Anyone who would do that IS a low-life moron. There's some things you just don't do...

  4. Salz, you could have a point but he still shouldn't have made that public outburst. Never bite the hand that feeds you...
