Ben Kingsley Corrie return rumour squashed

Ian Wylie at the Manchester Evening News puts the record straight on Ben Kingsley's rumoured return to Coronation Street which has been in the tabloids this week. Ben Kingsley played Ron Jenkins on Corrie from 1966 to 1967. He's the dark haired fella in the pic.

The MEN reports: "A spokesman for Coronation Street said today that there had not been discussions with Sir Ben about his making a return to the series. But she said: 'It is fantastic that artists of his calibre hold Coronation Street in such esteem, and want to have it on their CV. So many top names have said they would love to be involved including Julie Walters and Derek Jacobi, which is a great credit to the writers of the drama."
