Watch Coronation Street online from overseas

If you're overseas and want to know how you can watch Coronation Street online, then have a look here.

  1. You must mean "if you are normally a resident of Britain living temporarily abroad", because I tried the link from the States and got this:

    Access Denied

TVCatchup.com is a free service enabling qualifying registered users to record and watch UK television online.

To access this service, you must be:

a resident of the United Kingdom

in posession (sic) of, or covered by, a valid TV Licence

Your IP Address is not registered as originating from within the borders of the United Kingdom.

    I was hoping.

  2. Beryl, you should give uknova.com a try. You'll need to download a torrent program in order to use it, and it may take a couple of weeks to find registration open (there's a limit on members), but it's well worth the wait! And it's not just Corrie you can get...there are loads of other programs too. And the best thing is...it's completely free!! Good luck!

  3. Isn't this the total anththesis of what the Internet stands for? I just laughed, actually scoffed.

    Regulation vs. freedom.

    Old media vs. New media.

    UK border vs. the World.

Global viewing vs. a Valid UK TV Licence.

I believe it was Marshall McLuhan who once said something along the lines of "we create the future by looking through a rear-view mirror."

The solution of course is therefore that people select alternatives such as P2P technologies and make criminals out of people.

  6. I had that "audio, no video" problem as well - you have to install some Divx program (don't ask me, I'm not expert). It really is nice to be able to watch Corrie and Emmerdale - the bloggist generally posts new episodes the day after, and the picture quality is good enough that you can big up the picture to full screen size, and it's like watching real telly, not a computer.

  12. I thank those of you who have put your suggestions up for accessing Coronation Street. I am getting the same message that it is only available if you are in the UK. Well, I am from Canada and currently in Costa Rica. Talk about withdrawal symptoms! I even tried to access it online via CBC online and it said that the shows were currently unavailable. I was wondering if past episodes are available on Youtube ....does anyone know? Also, www.soapwatch.eu must have been taken down, and www.thebox.bz wants you to upload as much as you download. Why does this have to be so difficult? All I want to do is watch an episode or two of Coronation street on Sunday mornings to get my fix.
