Preview of today's Coronation Street - Wednesday 4th December 2024

Wednesday 4th December 2024

David admits to Max that he intercepted the visiting orders and visited Clayton but Shona must never know. Shona jumps in Steve’s cab, orders him to take her somewhere but mustn’t breathe a word. Steve confides in Max that he drove Shona to the prison and as they both arrive at the prison gates, they find Shona mid-row with the governor. As the argument escalates and Shona loses her temper, she shoves the governor. In a bid of desperation, will Max tell Shona the truth?

Shona arrives home in the back of Steve’s cab, but glancing at the house, she changes her mind and orders Steve to drive her back into town.

In the flat, a plotting Leanne watches Nick trying to fix the Christmas lights. At Les’s will reading, Nick comforts Leanne as Toyah watches. Adam reveals that the abattoir where Les worked has offered £50k in compensation for his death, with the condition of signing an NDA. Bernie suggests Chesney look into it as there seems to be more to Les’s death, is there more to Les’s death than the abattoir is letting on?

Nick lies to Leanne that the school won’t let Sam go on holiday and he’ll be going alone but when Toyah gives Leanne her holiday dates, Leanne notes that she’ll be off at exactly the same time as Nick. Leanne replaces Toyah’s passport and opens an email confirming a new bank account in Toyah’s name with Miller & Wise Bank. What is Leanne up to?

Struggling to come to terms with being fitted with a stoma bag, Bethany attends her support group and it’s clear she’s lied to Dawn, the group leader, about the operation she had which resulted in a stoma bag.

Sarah shows Bethany a news article stating that the Turkish clinic she used has botched another liposuction operation.

Daisy admits to Kit that she was unimpressed at his handling of Max and reckons he could have been more empathetic. Will they be able to put this behind them?

Coronation Street Episode Review Monday 2nd December

A worried Leanne Battersby on the stand in court, wearing a black jacket and pink outfit

I'm liking Leanne's new attitude to revenge. Instead of her normal stomping around and shouting approach, she's moved back into Victoria Court in order to mess with Nick and Toyah's relationship, show Nick how good she is with Sam, emotionally manipulate her ex, and stop him going to see Toyah at the hotel. She then goes for the jugular and snogs his face off, later telling her sis that it's just like old times. It's quite funny watching Nick prevaricate and try to get away from Leanne's somewhat aggressive ardent expressions of love. This all leads to Nick and Toyah arguing (and Nick telling a door he loves it) and Leanne also steals her sister's passport in order to do something shady with a bank account. It's very cunning and I love it.

Also! It's Rowan's day in court as Leanne, Nick and Amy give their evidence and Rowan is found guilty.

Along with Les's death, Chesney is dealing with the mystery white van man (or ven men, perhaps) who has slashed his tyres. I presume this story is that with Gemma away, Chesney is under a lot of pressure, and it'll culminate in him attacking the white van man? If not, I'm not sure what the point of it is? Talking of Les, surely it would be respecting Battersby Snr's memory to try and get some compo from his workplace? Corporate manslaughter, no?

Kit is the only person in Weatherfield tall enough to put the angel on top of the tree at the Rovers and he flirts shamelessly with Daisy as he does so. They go on a date, but Daisy loses some of her attraction to PC Green as he is unsympathetic towards Max, specifically about Lauren being in prison on her birthday.

Talking of dates, Adam and Alya go for coffee and he tells her how much he likes her. I was told off in the comments on  a previous blog for calling Alya a "hot babe" and at the risk of further complaints, she's looking very attractive - motherhood obviously suits her! She's still nosy and interfering though, she picks up Adam's phone when it beeps and sees it's a notification from a dating site. The cad! Adam points out he hasn't used the app since August and he then deletes it.

Shona has a meeting with the prison governor and finds out that visiting orders to see Clayton were sent by post as well as email and also that a mystery person visited him shortly before his suicide attempt. Shona is not so green as cabbage looking and she accuses David of being that person, which he denies (obvs).

Monday 2nd December 2024

In court, tensions are high as Rowan’s barrister cross-examines Amy, Nick and Leanne. When Leanne catches Rowan sharing a smug grin, she loses her temper and the court is adjourned. Has Leanne ruined her chances of taking Rowan down?

Leanne sets her sights on Nick as she insists they have a drink together, but will Nick agree?  Leanne finds Toyah’s passport and uploads the photo page from Toyah’s passport onto a website.

When David and Shona go to a meeting with the prison governor, he reveals that Clayton previously issued two visiting orders and someone came to see him. When the governor refuses to tell who the visitor was, David ushers Shona out. A suspicious Shona confronts David and asks if he was Clayton’s visitor. How will David talk himself out of this?

Chesney’s furious to discover someone has slashed his car tyres. Telling Fiz about the man with the van, Chesney’s convinced he’s the one behind it. Chesney spots the same van again, parked outside the house but as he takes a closer look, the van speeds away.

Kit flirts with Daisy as he helps her position the fairy on the Christmas tree and suggests they go on a date. As they head for the Bistro, Daisy’s unimpressed as Kit shows no sympathy when Max approaches and blames him for Lauren being in a prison cell on her birthday. Will Daisy cut the date short?

Over lunch, Adam admits to Alya that he likes her a lot but when he heads to the bathroom, his phone beeps with a notification from a dating app. Will Alya confront Adam?
