Coronation Street Episode Review; Weds 29th April 7.30 pm

Just when you thought he couldn't get any worse!

Jiggle Geoff's extra-marital jiggling (sorry) has finally caught up with him. Blaming Yasmeen for the STI is probably as low as you can go, but being Geoff, I doubt it. Yasmeen's clap diagnosis also seems to have awoken her (finally!) to the harsh reality of her insidious husband and claustrophobic marriage.  Whilst he's at the shop sourcing sauce, Yasmeen hides a bag ready for a quick exit. Being the paranoid narcissistic weirdo that he is, Geoff sees the deception on his secret security system, so of course, can use it to his advantage and heads back home. The magician that he is, I think he has a few ‘tricks’ still up to his sleeve when it comes to bullying his wife?

Returning from the grief retreat, Daniel looks refreshed, revitalised, and suitably shorn! Do you remember the days when we could get our haircut? The wife has cut mine this week, it looks fabulous - honest! Anyway, I digress. Has Daniel recovered sufficiently or is it just a front? It wasn't that long ago he was downing the booze and drowning in sorrow, hard thing to shake is grief. What do we think?

Dev bows to pressure deciding to try persuading the school to stand down the viral video scandal. It's a joy to watch Dev and Asha’s Father/Daughter relationship yet I think she may still need that motherly maternal figure - Mary perhaps? And what do we think of Kelly then? It's pretty obvious that she’s going to be hanging around the street for a bit, and of course, being Rick’s daughter, she’s a suitable ruse for maybe bringing down murderer/gangster Gary Windass?

Maria’s sudden curiosity is quite surprising considering her usual dimness but Gary's obfustication works rather well. Kelly seems to have found a companion in good girl Summer, and fearing homelessness for her newly found foe, Billy offers Kelly a roof over her head. How big is that flat? Funny how Geoff mentioned the tardis, plenty of Coronation Street houses seem smaller on the outside! Talking of which, Ken tells Tracy he isn't going to sell N0.1 after all. So I wonder where everyone will live now?

Back home, Geoff makes it clear to Yasmeen that he knows what she was planning to do and decides to set her baggage on fire!  It surprised me actually as I thought Geoff was going to lock Yasmeen back up in his magic box?  Sally sees the embers of fire burn and spies Yasmeen looking sullen. Can Sally save her mother-in-law from domestic violence?

Sue Cleaver interview: Celebrating 20 years as Eileen Grimshaw

There's a good interview with Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw in Coronation Street, in this week's Inside Soap magazine.

She says that she was only ever intending to stay a year at the soap so being there for 20 years is surreal. "Corrie is a seductive place," she tells the mag.

She says she landed the role as she was doing a series with Harry Enfield when she was called to Corrie for an audition. Her first day on set was working with Chris Bissom, who played Vikram Desai who picked up Eileen in his cab. During the journey she basically told Vikram how to do his job and that's how she ended up working for Streetcars.

It's a good, long interview which you can read fully in the magazine.

Preview of tonight's Coronation Street - Weds 29 April

WEDNESDAY APRIL 29TH

GEOFF DEALS YASMEEN A DEADLY THREAT Geoff rants and raves before leaving for the corner shop. While he is out, he checks his secret security camera feed on his phone and is intrigued to see Yasmeen stuffing clothes in a holdall and locking it in a cupboard by the stairs. Geoff returns home and innocently asks for the key to the cupboard.  Panicking, Yasmeen pretends to search high and low. Geoff plays along with the charade before grabbing it out of her pocket and forcing her to unlock the cupboard. Furious, what will Geoff do next?
GARY HAS A PROBLEM ON HIS DOORSTEP Summer takes pity on Kelly. When Summer explains to Billy that Kelly’s mum has abandoned her, he agrees to let her stay at their flat.
DEV LISTENS TO ASHA Dev agrees to phone the school and try to withdraw his complaint.
ELSEWHERE Daniel returns from the grief retreat and Ken’s pleased to hear he found it a great help.

Coronation Street spoiler: Knock-out Nina protects pal

With thanks to this week's Inside Soap magazine we're bringing you some Coronation Street spoilers for next week's Corrie.
Nine proves a knockout when she steps in to protect Asha from lads who are giving her grief on the street.  Asha later pays Nina a call to say thank you for looking out for her and Asha and Nina end up confiding in each other.
This might be a friendship that could be interesting to see develop.
