Can't wait to see what's coming to Eileen. Can't stand the vile woman.
ReplyDeleteI just now realized why they are bringing Peter Barlow back - to split up the newly reunited Nick & Leanne. Round and round we go.
ReplyDeleteThing is, Eileen won't be the one to lose all her money, Jason will.
ReplyDeleteWhen she first arrived I would have said that Eileen was too street smart to fall for a con like that. Over the years they've watered down the character so much that she's become a perpetual victim. I hope we see a flicker of the old Eileen and she throws the two of them out.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing Bethany punch Lauren, the girl who was bullying her. It's about time!
ReplyDeleteI'm also looking forward to seeing Eileen get her comeuppance/
The Phelan thing doesn't make sense. I would have thought he would be in for the long con, as in, getting more control over Jason's operations and building the business to his advantage. Not ripping them off for a few thousand dollars. I thought Eileen would also see through him. I do enjoy Todd vs Phelan, though.
ReplyDeleteTodd v Phelan is especially good since Todd is the good guy, that's unusual.
ReplyDeleteWhat I don't understand about Vinny's so-called property development is the location. They've approached Sally so it must be within the council area. Normally, these scams involve overseas developments that investors can't check on. The planning officer would have to visit the site, send out letters to residents who might be affected and a lot more red tape besides. Surely, Eileen or Jason wouldn't be stupid enough to cough up £65,000 before permission has been granted.
ReplyDeleteAh, but we're not meant to think of that. We are only stupid viewers, after all. The writers rarely do proper research. I remember years ago when Ken was teaching at Weatherfield High or Bessie Street, and he went to Scotland to visit his son Daniel, claiming he had some leave owing. This was during term time! The only leave teachers have is the school holidays. Even pupils can't go on holiday in term time, and teachers can only take compassionate leave. I don't remember the details, but Daniel wasn't ill, Ken just felt he hadn't seen him for a while.
ReplyDeleteJust saw something that ITV posted indicating that Sean will become Norris' new lodger. All I can say is that these two great drama queens are well suited! They are both camp and fussy but maybe Norris will be a more grounding influence on Sean and Sean will get Norris to loosen up a bit.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to this pairing of Sean & Norris, loads better than any other pairings we have to endure on the street.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to Sean and Norris too.
ReplyDeleteBut it further confirms my suspicion that Emily won't be coming back.
I agree with Ancient, this makes it more likely that Emma is not coming back. Has anyone seen anything about the actress? Usually in USA TV if we see news about an actor failing in negotiations for a new contract, that spells bad news for the character on the show.
ReplyDeleteThere was a letter asking about Emily in one of our TV guides yesterday,,and the reply was that Eileen Derbyshire is on extended leave but is definitely coming back soon.
