The 2011 Inside Soap nominations have been announced this morning. Coronation Street is, of course, nominated in the Best Soap category. Other Corrie actors nominated are as follows:
Katherine Kelly (Becky McDonald) - Best Actress
Chris Gascoyne (Peter Barlow) - Best Actor
Alex Bain (Simon Barlow) - Best Young Actor
Paula Lane (Kylie Platt) - Best Newcomer
Patti Clare (Mary Taylor) - Funniest Performance
Keith Duffy (Ciaran McCarthy) - Sexiest Male
Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre) - Sexiest Female
Bill Tarmey (Jack Duckworth) - Best Exit
The Cropper wedding - Best Wedding
Jane Danson (Leanne Barlow) - Best Dramatic Performance (for the live episode)
Full nomination list.
We have just seen the tram crash/live episodes in Canada, and Jane Danson was fantastic.. best actress is well deserved!

Tina sexiest female? She wouldn't even make my Top 5.
ReplyDeleteAs for Katherine Kelly best actress, have the Inside Soap panel been watching a different show to me these last twelve months?
Either that, or it's fixed so that EastEnders gets a clean sweep yet again.
I don't understand why Tina is always voted sexiest female
ReplyDeleteAlison King definitely deserves a nomination- she's been phenomenal this year and has excelled with every storyline she has been given. I'm pleased that Jane Danson and Chris Gascoyne have been nominated, and I loved Jack Duckworth's exit.
ReplyDeleteJane Danson has been outstanding in the live episodes we've just seen them here in Canada!
ReplyDeleteWhy is Tina continually voted sexy female don't get it at all.
I've worked it out - it's actually Coronation Street themselves who put up certain actors for the awards. This is why you can only vote for who they list and NOT who we may want to vote for.
ReplyDeleteHow old are these nominations? The Cropper wedding must have been well over a year ago. Plus its the same old noms - Tina sexiest woman and Mary funny? Creepy more like.
ReplyDeleteThere is a list of actors for each category and viewers had been asked to vote for their choice. We had the links to the voting awhile back. The final nominations you see here are the end result of that first vote. I believe the performances are meant to cover the previous year or the year between each awards period, i.e. spring to spring.
ReplyDeleteI wish they would call it "Most Popular" rather than "Best". That would reflect the reality.
