I totally agree that it should have been saved. Surely as they are just shells they could have been moved somewhere that they could have been kept as a permanent tourist attraction.Loubyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17863157238652077789noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7830446634490957159.post-55892261926684611632016-12-07T18:32:55.347+00:002016-12-07T18:32:55.347+00:00I agree with Anonymous (18:19) about having some p...I agree with Anonymous (18:19) about having some physical remnant left as historical homage. Though the Street was reproduced so beautifully in the new place, this is the spiritual home of Corrie and shouldn't just be crushed and built over with no care at all for how the show enriched lives all over the world. Jeesh, while we're at it, why not let's just build a new Earth somewhere maggie mugginsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7830446634490957159.post-39001491124868917632016-12-07T18:19:01.940+00:002016-12-07T18:19:01.940+00:00I hope the new development will have some kind of ...I hope the new development will have some kind of visual homage to the famous fictional street.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7830446634490957159.post-38080673780356317332016-12-07T17:43:06.557+00:002016-12-07T17:43:06.557+00:00Most of Salford's heart has been ripped out in...Most of Salford's heart has been ripped out in the name of 'redevelopment' and 'regeneration'. It doesn't surprise me that the Corrie set is suffering the same fate, regardless of the fact that it is an iconic piece of history. I realize that it was a set and it would have taken quite a bit of work, but I just know it could have been restored in to an actual street with a pub and corner shop where many would have paid a great deal to live. I know I would have! Look at the Brookside Close which is now a true place to live. I reckon people may one day regret destroying this wonderful placefairycakehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08204927283982501230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7830446634490957159.post-59613640057981684032016-12-07T14:47:53.782+00:002016-12-07T14:47:53.782+00:00How sad.How sad.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7830446634490957159.post-55990236515393307472016-12-07T13:37:49.549+00:002016-12-07T13:37:49.549+00:00Yes I know what you mean, so many memories.Yes I know what you mean, so many memories.Steviehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16328126049599187475noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7830446634490957159.post-33425927968473175442016-12-07T13:33:37.222+00:002016-12-07T13:33:37.222+00:00After working there as a Tour Guide and having lit...After working there as a Tour Guide and having literally the best time of my life, it actually hurts looking at the pictures.
