Corrie’s Lucy Fallon moved to tears at Bethany rape scene
Coronation Street actress Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt, has revealed that her character Bethany’s grooming ordeal was so emotionally draining she was moved to tears while filming.
In an interview with The Sun’s Fabulous magazine, Lucy said: “There have been scenes where I have genuinely cried because they’ve been so hard to do. Obviously the rape scene with Neil was the hardest and the one with all of the men in the flat because imagining that actually happening to someone is just horrible.”
In next week's Coronation Street, we'll see Bethany confide in Craig and the two of them bring down nasty Neil the copper. It can't be long now for this story to end in court, with Nathan jailed leaving Bethany to get on with her life. I wonder what Corrie has next in store for her?

Hopefully she will go back to college, study hard and do well. Then she could go to uni or, heaven forbid, get a good job somewhere other than Weatherfield. I don't mean to imply that I want her gone from the street, just that it would be nice to see a young person on Corrie do well for themselves.
Hopefully Bethany can have some peace after all of this!
Pat's right, back to school, hopefully find a nice guy her age and have a normal relationship.
I have to say I really tired of hearing about this storyline now. Upteen interviews saying the same thing. It's just gone on too long.
Perhaps join the police and work with victims of rape and grooming? An MP who champions the cause of trafficking victims, a counsellor...you get the idea. I don't think there is a 'normal' for her to go back to, ever. Best you can hope for is to use your experience in a constructive way.
As difficult as it is to watch Bethany's story go on, how much more painful must it be for those who are still going through it? Because it's still going on out there, and exposing the reality can help. I try to remember that whenever I want to throw up, on seeing Neil's smarmy, nasty face lying to Craig.
