Coronation Street Spoiler: Drug Dealer Hits the Bistro
A face from Robert’s past turns up in Coronation Street next week, and it’ll mean even more bad news for the Barlows.
Robert’s friend Rich is a drug dealer and when he offers Robert some drugs, Daniel spots what’s going on. Robert turns the drugs down but Daniel approaches Rich later and buys some from him, making out they’re for Robert.
When Rich demands payment for Daniel’s drugs, Robert’s taken aback. Concerned for his welfare, Robert hammers on Daniel’s door. Adam approaches and they let themselves in. They’re horrified to find Daniel slumped unconscious.

I tell ya, that Daniel ain't as nice as he's cracked up to be!
He should pace himself. At the rate he's going from one mess to the next people are going to also say he's not as smart as he's cracked up to be either.
Having mental health issues doesn't make you "not smart."
I agree. Well said.
But not all of his mistakes can be ascribed to mental health. For example, Having unprotected sex with a girl he barely knew. Letting others get arrested for something he knew he'd done. Providing himself an easy to check false alibi. Holding on to the book he hit Ken with and any article if clothing he'd been wearing since they must also have had traces of blood. Those were just dumb things to do.
contraception isn't foolproof. they didn't purposely have unprotected sex.
as for the other things, he was in a state of shock and panic. it's nigh on impossible to think clearly and make sensible decisions in those situations, which can be worsened especially if you have mental health issues, like daniel does.
Actually mental illness can account for a lot of his behavior. He is obviously suffering from something and while undiagnosed his behavior can include everything the character has done thus far.
I don't know that Daniel and his behaviour stand up to analysis. If he hadn't hidden the book under the floorboards, we couldn't watch him unearth it. The really crazy thing is that the writers expect us to believe that his mother left him totally alone at home for seven years and nobody noticed. Not the school, the landlord, the bank, the neighbours and nothing happened that required a parent's presence. At 15, he was going to school with clean clothes that he'd faithfully washed and ironed like all teenagers do ...
Maricha, whilst I know a lot of extremely intelligent people, a lot of them have very little common sense, which they wholly admit to, which is what a lot of Daniels behaviour can be attributed to
