5 things we learned in Corrie this week

It's been a busy old week in Weatherfield this week. Let's have a look at some of the things we learned this week that we didn't know this time last week.

1. ITV's Granada Reports transmits EVERYWHERE

Granada Reports is the ITV regional news programme covering the North West of England and the Isle of Man. And yet.. and yet... it turned up on TV in the Peak District where Tracy and Amy were hiding out. Actually, it wasn't even the Peak District, it was Bolton.

2. A slotted spoon makes an ideal weapon

And just how did the owner of the cottage manage to get a phone signal when neither Rob or Amy could?

 3. Cake tongs also make an ideal weapon

"Are you threatening me with cake tongs?" Adam Barlow asked Roy in the cafe. Roy? Threaten? I don't think so.

4. Aidan Connor's got a new car

Underworld must be bringing in the orders at the minute. How else to explain that Aidan Connor can afford to buy and drive the fantastic Ford Mustang?  And what happened to his Alfa Romeo?

5. Maria leaves a mean passive-aggressive note

Granada Reports transmits to the Peak District too. We stayed in Buxton a few years ago and the region was Granada. It goes as far as North Wales, North Yorkshire and Cumbria :)

I agree. Us in Granadaland get news reports from the Peak District in Granada reports. God bless Lucy Leacock.( The lady in the red jacket in the photo)

Oops. Meant Meacock, no Leacock. Darn predictive text

Good spot on the Granada Reports, folks, thanks!

How is that note mean? Or passive aggressive? It is just a reasonable request.

I feel like Michelle would interpret Maria's note as both mean and passive-aggressive only because Michelle is self-absorbed so wouldn't appreciate being asked to change her behaviour. I also wonder if the Mustang is a downgrade financially from the Alpha Romeo? Maybe they are trying to show how Aidan copes with "hard economic times"? ;)

Don't forget, before Aidan's Alfa, he had a left-hand drive US Pontiac Solstice convertible. Why he didn't buy the Opel GT, available in Europe?
