Sean Tully's cocktail quote - crude, rude or funny?

I almost choked on my barm cake on Friday night when Sean uttered *that* line.

As he handed over a blue cocktail to Sinead on her birthday, he said: “There you go, I’ve even sugared the rim for you!”

It was followed by Liz saying: “You don’t get an offer like that everyday!”

It was a cheeky little quote and I liked it. I think it's exactly the sort of thing Sean would have said and was totally in keeping with the character.

I wonder if it's one of the quotes that would have made its way to the saucy script snippet board?

Definitely a Sean line and the whole point of double entendre is that it can be taken the innocent way and so has no need to cause anyone any offence. Good on the writers, I say.

Diane, you beat me to it! In the tradition of pantomime humour, those who don't get it won't be offended, and those who do get it will (probably) laugh. Entirely appropriate banter between very good friends.

Ok you's can all stop laughing now. ;)
I've googled it, and it's not funny to me, as I missed the punch line obviously, Nothing worse than a latecomer to the joke!
I'm not a prude, but the humor escapes me.
In fact, all your comments above made me laugh way more than any joke from Sean :)
Cheers!
