Coronation Street is looking for Costume Supervisors.

As a Costume Supervisor, you will report to, and assist, the Costume Department Supervisor in maintaining costume continuity records using iPads and be present on set whilst filming. You will prepare costumes and costume changes for the filming, liaise with our Head of Costume and Costume Department Supervisor to ensure costumes are correct for filming and character continuity. We will look to you to advise and coordinate the dressing of artistes to meet production requirements and liaise with various departments and directors to maintain the look of the show.

You will ensure all artistes are dressed and ready prior to location/studio filming whilst managing Costume Assistants’ duties and tasks. Working with our Costume Department Supervisor you must keep on top of changes to the schedule with rostering; you will also attend production meetings, director meetings and liaise with department heads to then provide the costume team with accurate information on costume requirements according to production schedules.

As a Costume Supervisor, you will join us with previous experience within a costume department and of leading a team. You will have the ability to read and break down scripts and respond to script amendments from early stages to prepare the right look for each storyline following this through into the actor’s look. It is important that you have great interpersonal and communication skills as you will need to liaise with many people across the production. You must have the ability to plan, assist and coordinate work activities and resources to meet servicing and dressing of artistes.

A professional qualification in Art, Fashion or Costume Design is desirable but not essential as is a creative and artistic flair. Timekeeping and excellent use of time management is essential, as is the ability to sew and carry out minor alterations and have strong computer skills.

Due to the very nature of this role, confidentiality and absolute discretion is essential when dealing with artistes. Demanding filming hours mean that a flexible approach is essential.
