Coronation
Street have an amazing opportunity for a Standby Art Director to join
our busy, creative Art Department. This role is to support our Art
Director throughout the production process in delivering all design
requirements for our episodes and taking responsibility for the smooth
running of the shooting day in terms of scenery, dressing and continuity
of props.
Our Standby Art Director will be responsible for
ensuring the ‘look’ of each set and location on a shot by shot basis,
working closely with the Director to help deliver creative narrative
through strong design choices.
Your role will consist of prepping
and shooting a block of Coronation Street., reading and breaking down
scripts, anticipating any problems/issues in the scripts and addressing
these with the relevant departments, working together to find solutions
and resolve any issues. Working across the shoot you will take sole
creative responsibility for the design elements of the day’s filming
including a keen eye for detail, quick decision-making, problem-solving
and time
management on-set.
Our Standby Art Directors will
be creative, organised and will possess strong communication skills in
order to liaise with cast and crew across a wide range of departments.
You must demonstrate the understanding of continuity and have high
levels of creative ability.
The successful candidate will have
previous drama experience within an Art /Props Department, knowledge of
the relevant Health & Safety legislation, and a Qualification /
Certification in Fine Art, Theatre, Architecture, Interior or 3D design
and IOSH or similar H&S qualification is desirable.
This role will be required to work production hours which can be long and sometimes unsociable.
