This just in via Digital Spy which is then via Twitter. Jennie McAlpine announced on Twitter that she and her partner Chris Farr are expecting a baby.
She and Chris have been a couple for 9 years and own a Manchester city centre restaurant, Annie's. Jennie has been on Coronation Street since 2001.
Once Tyrone and Fiz recover from Maria's misguided campaign to split them up, maybe the powers that be will write Jennie's pregnancy into the show and Tyrone and Fiz will have a truly blended family, with a wedding to top it all off. That's my wish.
Congratulations to Jennie and Chris from all of us here at Blog Towers!

Congrats to Fiz!
I agree that they should defo write this into the story! She and Tyrone make such a lovely couple and this would be the cherry on top!
Fan from Canada.
Yes. Leave out the evil and give us back our sweet corrie stories. I like your idea a lot
I'll all about your idea, Tvor. Let's hope that tptb do this!
Bev
Yes, let's have at least one happy family! Misery isn't the only story to be told.
Love that idea, let's hope tptb read these blogs & go with it! I agree with anonymous 20:43 let's have one happy family on the street. There's no one to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Vera & Jack, Hilda & Stan. Perhaps this is the family to do it.
Hate to be negative but I have been a Corrie fan for 40 years and in all honesty - Jack and Vera weren't always happy - they both had affairs and Jack questioned his paternity of Terry. Also Stan and Hilda when they first appeared on the show Stan was known to physically abuse Hilda (although it wasn't shown on screen). Both Jack and Stan didn't treat their wives very well.
Congrats to Chris and Jennie! I agree with you, Tvor, I sure hope we get a lovely blended family and wedding! We viewers deserve it ;)
Fair enough anonymous at 23:18, those are probably not good examples, but there are still plenty of real life couples who, while they may have ups and downs (who doesn't?) and have to work hard to maintain a happy relationship, they don't always have to deal with infidelity, alcoholism, drugs, gambling, surrogacy, blackmail, bankruptcy etc. Real life isn't always drama drama drama so it would be nice to see this reflected in at least one couple on Corrie.
Ah yes, Anon at 23:18 I love Stan and Hilda and I've watched many of the old clips with them in it. I DID catch one old clip - black and white early episodes where there was a strong hint that Stan had hit Hilda... I think Hilda comes into the dining room rubbing or gingerly placing a hand over one eye and Stan is seated at the table. The scene before that ended with Hilda somehow losing some money due to a mistake and Stan getting extremely upset. I think Granada soon learned that this part of Stan and Hilda's relationship wasn't going to work so I think they quickly decided it wasn't going to be done again and I don't recall seeing another early episode with that kind of shocking reference. In fact, Hilda's power grew and grew while Stan retreated more and more to his brew.
But I digress. I'm all for a new baby in Fiz and Ty's household -- the pregnancy usually is a chance for interesting storylines but then once the birth happens the writing falters as they don't seem to know what to do with the children in the cast...
I also hope that they write Jennie's pregnancy into the script. It would be great to see Fiz and Tyrone have a household of kids and be happy. Writers, can't we have one family who is relatively happy and stays TOGETHER? No cheating, no prison, just normal family stuff...PLEASE? These two are so perfect together.
