Coronation Street nominations in All About Soap Awards 2013

Voting opens on Tuesday 12 February in this year's All About Soap Awards.  The magazine's awards are determined solely by public votes.  We'll be blogging the link and details of how to vote on Tuesday, so stay tuned. Nick and Leanne's rocky romance for Best Storyline? Really?! I hardly think Leanne continually bouncing between Nick and Peter is a worthy storyline.

What about the domestic abuse plot that was recently watched by over 10 million viewers?

I'm a bit surprised as to what's been nominated too from Corrie and that they're not nominated in all categories too.

Does anyone know how nominations are made for awards like these? Are they purely nominations that each soap puts forward for inclusion? Or does each award magazine or panel or whatever, choose who gets nominated for what?

Huge Corrie fan that I am, I don't want to vote for any of those nominations, sadly.

It's stupid awards like these that help to ruin our favourite soap. It's all about sensationalism and nothing to do with quality or real entertainment. Both baby dramas are amongst the worst storylines this year, both weddings were dull and I don't want to be on the edge of my seat watching Coronation Street.

I urge all readers of this blog to ignore these "awards".

I only vote in award contests that might actually mean anything like the NTAs. There are so many soap award contests these days, and I wonder if they use your email address to sell to mailing list companies.

I always vote in the British Soap Awards but I don't see the point of these All About Soap "awards"

Anonymous - very wrong to urge fans not to vote - people have a choice, they can vote if they wish.

BEST baby story the surrogacy - have they taken leave of their senses? Has to be awarded under the raspberry awards - WORST baby story.
