Corrie weekly awards: August 27 - 30

Sex Bomb award: Steve has a lot of self confidence, you gotta give him that.

Fractured Friendship award: Seems to be all over for Ty and Tommy.

Wearing blinders award: Tyrone thinks everything will be ok with Kirsty now. It just doesn't stop overnight. Not without help. Kirsty is convinced that Tina fancies Tyrone.

Word twisting award: Kirsty is very good at turning everything Ty says around to accuse him of something or other.

Feckless Fella award: Gold medal! Karl. He probably let Stella do all the work too and he's not really looking for work.
Fashion award: Rob looked sharp in his suit.

Crawling Back award: Rob is back with Eva but Stella's not too happy about it since he was coming on to her 5 minutes ago.

Pants on Fire award: Ryan lied about going to the gig but was busted in minutes by Sophie.

Shouldn't have sacked me award: Gobby star: Tommy announced to the whole pub that Kirsty abused Tyrone so Tyrone told everyone Tommy was using the garage to transport drugs.

Spark out award: Awww lickle Jack was sound asleep during his scene with Sophie.

Lines of the week:
Tina about Kirsty "She's not just two butties short of a picnic, she's lost the whole flamin' hamper"
Steve about Michelle "She's out of my league"
Karl "Doesn't matter if it's a wok or a chip pan, a fire's a fire"
Maria to Jason "You are so straight I'm surprised Owen doesn't use you as a spirit level!"
Kirsty to Tyrone "I need you to choose" (uhoh)
Steve "Not that many blokes can still fit in their wedding suit" Michelle "that depends on which wedding it was" Steve "...fourth"
Sean about the vase "That deeply offends my finely honed sense of style" (mine too!)
Stella to Rob "I didn't have you down as a sensitive type" (I don't think he is)

Frosty Awards:
Do any of us care award: Hands up those viewers who find the Ryan on drugs story in any way interesting or entertaining? I don’t think any of us gives a monkey’s toss about anything he does quite frankly.

Ear plugs award: Michelle just seems to exist to flick her bouncy hair around and screech RYYYYAAANN at 500 decibels. This character was oh so exhausted months and months ago, another one that I really don’t care a jot about or any story that she is in.

Dirty Rat Award: Rob with his rather toe curling ‘coming on’ to Stella. Is she succumbing? Hard to tell with her plastic expressionless face. How any man could prefer her to the young delectable Eva is just not credible unless it’s some kind of wind up. We have already had the mother daughter triangle with Drear/Tracyluv/Div and it was pretty unpalatable then.

Gob on a Stick Award: Tina probably has Tyrone’s best interests at heart but it gives her an excuse to do what she does best; yell and be stroppy and belligerent. She just couldn’t keep it buttoned could she? With a friend like Miss Macintyre, you certainly don’t need any enemies.

Chuck out your chintz award: The gall of the bloke Paul, just throwing out Eileen’s furniture to replace it with that which he chose with his dead wife Lesley – who got a very dismissive mention – without so much as a bye your leave – he is so creepy.

Hair from hell...it's a toss up between Steve and Rob..or maybe the producers think that middle-aged men with foppish haircuts is cool or makes them look younger than they are...it doesn't.

The current Ryan is not IMO pulling it off as a major drug addict. We've not had a mention of him in years and now Michelle is ranting and raving about how much a part of her life he is.

I hope the coming storyline with Michelle/Kirsty/baby born in Rovers has the desired ending of Tina and Tommy leaving the street but I doubt it..the writers have something stupider than stupid in mind.

I really had high hopes for Michelle this time around, but I'm confused about where they are going with her. Sure, she's there to try to keep Ryan in line and maybe Ryan will get others on the Street hooked on drugs but outside of that, I'm not sure what the purpose of bringing this family back to the Street was?

Rob hitting on Stella must have been a wind-up, considering how dismissive he was about Eva after learning how immature she is with her getting-Karl-fired nonsense. He seems like a pastic jerk but he's right that she shouldn't have wasted company resources and risked losing a customer/company reputation to play her little game.

Paul is creepy and whiny and nothing that I'd expect Eileen to be interested in long-term. Clearly a sign of the future, if he's taken it upon himself to replace Eileen's furniture without discussing it first. Control freak rearing his ugly head? Perhaps he could hook up with Kirsty and they could live together in that lovely house of his... far away.

So, just where did Paul put Eileen's furniture? I can see him keeping something of Lesley's ......small like a ring not a big piece of furniture! He is creepy isn't he....Eileen must be beyond desperate.

It wasn't like the furniture was Lesley's alone. He had a house full of furniture that was theirs and obviously in good shape and sitting in storage gathering dust. I certainly wouldn't mind using it. Her sofa had a busted spring and she said she needed a new one and couldn't afford it. He had a good one. The math works for me.

Might have planned that vase knock over a bit better...Seans performance was dismal..you could actually see him push the vase with his hand. What is the point of this exactly? Nothing for the Grimshaw's to do? Sean swaning around making up stories about an invisible boyfriend has been done and done again.
