Post-Blog edit: Michelle Keegan's agent has denied she will be appearing in Strictly. Read that here.
The Daily Star this week had a story that suggested Michelle Keegan, who plays Coronation Street's Tina McIntyre, could be joining the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Actually, what the article said was that a Strictly "insider" was quoted as saying:
“We have our hit list and it’s Michelle who tops it. We want her but we
know it will be a battle to get her.”
A Corrie spokeswoman responded saying:
“Offers to our actors are considered on merit.”
There's no doubt that having Michelle on the show would be a catch for the BBC. And if she did do it, let's hope she lasts longer than the last Corrie actors who ended up there. Remind yourself who they were... there was this one and this one.

I understand there's a policy at ITV not to let its stars appear on Strictly. Brian Capron, Tina O'Brien and Craig Kelly all signed up once they'd left the show. Plus the heavy workload of the soap opera wouldn't give her much time to rehearse - the Beeb will make allowances for its EastEnders stars, but I doubt ITV would.
Oh let her go, we could all use a break.
Of course she will be allowed go to, "Tina" will just be written out for a bit only to return when she gets voted off.
