Coronation Street fan of the week - Rachel from Glasgow

It's Wednesday and time to meet another Corrie fan of the week.
Would you like to be our Coronation Street fan of the week?
Click here to find out more.
Who are you and where are you from?
I'm Rachel Macintyre from Glasgow, Scotland.
How long have you been watching Corrie?
Since I was a very young child, so about 13 years. My parents watched it and got me totally hooked.

Who are your favourite female and male characters - and the reasons why?
I love Carla Connor. She is such a complex, multi-layer character. She is strong, witty, bitchy and funny on the outside but she can be vulnerable and scared underneath. I love Simon Barlow. He is just captivating when on screen and he is funny and cute. It's so upsetting when he cries or is upset.

What's been some of your favourite Corrie storylines over the years?
Tracy Barlow murdering Charlie after seducing him. Richard Hillman's reign of undetected terror. Mad Maya trying to kill Dev and Sunite (pity she didn't succeed). Tony Gordon's escape from prison and holding Carla, Hayley and Maria hostage in the factory and setting it on fire. The tram crash and explosion. Carla's rape and Frank's murder. Oh, and when Blanche goes to the AA meeting with Peter and the rest of the family, it was hilarious.

And what would your fantasy Corrie storyline be?
Ken has an affair with Leanne, lol. She's about the only person he hasn't had an affair with, and it would be funny as. A serial killer comes to the cobbles and kills Sean, Sally, Kevin, Dev and Karl before getting caught. Well, a girl can dream.

Have you any snippets or news about meeting any of the Corrie cast, or trips to the set, etc., that you'd like to share?
Sadly, no. But I would love to meet some of the cast (Ali, Kym, Chris, Alexander e.t.c)

How interesting such a young person likes the most violent storylines best! No offense intended, I'm just interested to learn that these stick out more for younger viewers rather than the comedy or poignant stories.

I like your idea of a serial killer - and the intended victims! ;)
