Helen Flanagan's first role since she left Corrie

Since she left Coronation Street as Rosie Webster, actress Helen Flanagan has been in the tabloids pretty much all the time.

Pictures of her with various bits of her body on show have been flashed across the papers, with journalists pretty much running stories about her taken from her postings she's made to her twitter account.

Anyway, it looks like Helen's now got a proper job. She's the face of SpecSavers 2012 challenge to find the spectacle wearer of the year.

But as any Coronation Street fan knows, there can only ever be one winner in that competition.

Ha ha.
Slightly typecast there. That is SO a job Rosie would get!

Why would she leave a successful high profile acting job for transient TV ad work if the acting profession is her passion?

I'm concerned this young woman might have some sort of emotional stability problem, confusing reality with fiction.

Just what is she seeking?

I agree with DK..her leaving might have something to do with the boyfriend. I think she'll have regrets later on. If this is all she can get - her career will fizzle pretty fast. She is not a good enough actress to make it in movies IMO and is too typecast as Rosie Webster to do another soap.

She looks different with the specs doesn't she? Or maybe it's the hair off her face too. A job's a job, let's face it. Alison King has done tv adverts. It's all paying work.

Tvor - yes, Alison King did TV adverts and then went on to do Corrie. Helen Flanagan is the complete reverse!

Wonder how long it will be before she's back?

Maybe Sophie can leave to do the specs ad and Rosie can come back to Corrie - better for Corrie but not sure about the specs ad - is it a speaking part? - then maybe Sophie would be a bad idea. :-0

Well she is quite young so it's natural she'd want to go and try other things especially as she's been in corrie since she was a kid. Plus I wonder if they might have her back at some point as she still has family on the street. She's landed on her feet with the TV ad.
