An appeal for help from Corrie fans

If anyone can help answer this Coronation Street-related query, please can you email directly to johntomlinson05@aol.com

When Arthur Lowe sadly died in April 1982, Granada repeated an episode of Coronation Street from 1962 in tribute to him. It was shown on Saturday 17th April at 10.00pm but only in the Granada region as the other ITV companies decided to show another programme with Mr Lowe in it instead. Because of this, the repeat got very low viewing figures with only 919000 people tuning in to watch it. The only thing we don't know is which episode was shown! The Manchester Evening News and the Liverpool Echo don't say anything beyond "a 1962 episode", the BFI archive of programme schedules and press releases has no information and ITV themselves don't know. Is there anyone out there who was in the north west of England that night and saw the episode and, if so, can they tell us which one it was? All information gratefully received!
